Economic Breakthrough Towards AEC/MAE 2015

 Sulawesi-Southeast Sulawesi Province has a overflow Natural Resources. its About 900 million metric tons of mining Potential and also 15 million tons a year for fisheries. However, these conditions have not been supported by the Human Resources and infrastructure. It becomes a major factor of difficult to the Southeast Sulawesi to compete in the free market or the MAE (ASEAN Economic Community) in 2015, but if it managed well, Southeast Sulawesi will have a great chance in MAE 2015.

“Commodity in Southeast Sulawesi not been managed well. Therefore, if the economic sector unprepare, then we will exploit and dominate by the other country, “said Faerley Piga, Chief of Deputy Monetary Bank Indonesia.

According to him, Southeast Sulawesi Province economic system must be prepare, starting from the real sector and infrastructure. From access roads, ports, logistics systems and industry, so all of the natural resources are not controlled by other country.

“If we do not prepare all of it, then we will just enjoy the import comodity from the other country. we give our raw material with a low price, then we buy finished goods at a high price” he said.

The government should provides an opportunity for investors to come. So the economy sector can grow and develop, and if the industrial sector has grown supported by infrastructure, the MAE 2015 will be a great chance for us and our economy will grow rapidly.

Facing MAE 2015, government began to arrange the economic system. Departement of industry and marketing (Disperindag) of Southeast Sulawesi has conducted various program to improve the quality of human resources and the quality of the products. Chamber of Indonesian Commerce (KADIN) of Southeast Sulawesi assistance to Small and Medium Enterprises, as well as Bank of Indonesia established Regional Economic and Financial Forum (F-EKR) to discuss the issues of MAE 2015. the effort is expected to make Southeast Sulawesi rise up and to be able to compete in MAE 2015.
