In the middle of the evolving dynamics in Indonesia, who would have thought that Indonesia turned out to have a distinctive achievement in the eyes of the world in addressing the diversity, Indonesia is seen as a country that succeeded in realizing peace in the life of a pluralistic society.
One of the countries interested in learning how to respond to a plurality Indonesia is Afghanistan where the Afghan government wants to implement such success in their country given the majority Afghan people is 99 percent Muslim.
It was delivered by an Executive Advisor and Member of the High Peace Council of Afghanistan, Abdul Hakeem Mujahid during a meeting with Vice President of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla.
During the meeting, Abdul Hakeem, accompanied by Afghanistan’s ambassador to Indonesia, Roya Rahmani said he discussed the greatness of Indonesia in maintaining harmony relationship together. Therefore, Afghanistan is trying to bring peace there through an optimistic attitude and cooperation with Indonesia then Afghanistan hopes that peace can be realized.
Furthermore, he added, there are four messages that must be implemented in order that peace is realized. Those four messages are listening to each other, learning from experience, respecting, and seeing each other in common.
The fourth message that should be implemented in such a form of cooperation is planned to be carried out between Afghanistan and Indonesia in addressing the meaning of pluralism in a country. Then, from the relationship, what benefit can we get?
Responding to the viewpoint shown by Afghanistan to Indonesia, it is fitting we are aware that we are united in the middle of the existing plurality and we tightened by Pancasila with the motto Unity in Diversity, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. That motto is always reminded us even we are diverse and plural, we always be one as Indonesia. Let’s keep the unity amid differences, do not discredit the difference but look at the beauty of unity behind differences.
