CIDISS – Many rivers in Province of Central Kalimantan make some of people used boat as the transportation vehicle. It also supported by there is no road on some areas of Central Kalimantan.
There some accidents caused by boat sank, make Water Police of Seruyan Police announce people to complete their boat with life saver tools, such as life jacket.
Others alternative beside life jacket, according to Chief of Water Police of Seruyan Police, AKP Mashudi, and people are asked to provide at least empty 10 liter of jerry can. It aimed, when there are emergency situation, the life saver will use as save life.
Like car or motorcycle, checking to the boat is needed in order to make sure the boat is in the well condition and minimize the broken boat or sank.
Before it, Rahman (30), a citizen of Pematang Panjang Village, Seruyan Hilir Timur district, Seruyan Regency, reported died after his boat has failed engine on Thursday (31/8). Rahman fall to river when he tries to restart the engine.
He tries to get to the boat, but the boat sank. Because of the torrential of Seruyan rivers flow, people failed to save his life. The victim body is found 2 days after missing.
Besides that, Police also remind people about do not take the drug, or alcohol when using boat. “Even able to swim, but in the middle of drunk, we are not able to save our life,” he said.
