The existence of the Pancasila Ideology Policy Bill (HIP) has indeed drawn criticism. This regulation was later replaced by the Bill of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP). The public also supports the BPIP Bill because it is considered capable of strengthening the existence of Pancasila which has the potential to be eroded by foreign ideologies.
Political observer Saddam Al Jihad assessed that the BPIP Bill needs to get support and open space for intellectualization so that the community will not be provoked again.
In an official statement, Saddam said that the BPIP Bill was a complete package to strengthen Pancasila in the life of the nation and state.
He then revealed that there are 2 things that are imperative to support the first BPIP Bill, this bill is based on TAP MPRS number 25 of 1966 concerning the prohibition of the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI) and the teachings of Communism, Marxism and Leninism .
This means that the institutional foundations become strong and firm by raising these foundations and this shows the state’s support for Pancasila.
Furthermore, the BPIP Bill can be a strength for every element of society in collaborating. It can even legally strengthen Permenristekdikti 55/2018 for the fostering of Pancasila Ideology on campus.
This shows that there is no gap for anyone who is anti-Pancasila in Indonesia, and if the tone is still rejecting the BPIP Bill, it is a sign of being reactive and provocative by a few parties.
In 2018, Saddam also proposed fostering the Pancasila ideology on campus to strengthen the Pancasila culture on campus. This then became the impetus for the publication of Permenristekdikti 55 of 2018 concerning UKM fostering the nation’s ideology on campus.
It should be noted that the bill is considered to provide certainty for BPIP, the existence of BPIP is also needed to maintain Pancasila and teach the values of Pancasila to all the nation’s children.
Former Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Tri Sutrisno firmly stated that the BPIP Bill regulates BPIP which has the responsibility to teach the values of Pancasila. With this bill, BPIP cannot be determined solely by the tastes of the ruling regime.
Therefore, the existence of BPIP requires a strong legal umbrella in order to facilitate and actualize the values of Pancasila as the basis of the state and the nation’s ideology.
The inculcation of Pancasila values, especially in the younger generation, is very important. This is because currently many young people are targeted and easily exposed to ideologies that are against Pancasila.
This is the result of neglecting Pancasila since the reform era with the abolition of BP7. Pancasila is also not included in subjects ranging from basic education to tertiary education.
So that we often meet young people who do not know and don’t memorize Pancasila. Collective awareness about Pancasila has become blurred. In fact, it is suspected that there are state apparatuses who are negligent. If this is allowed, of course this is very dangerous.
The existence of the BPIP Bill is certainly expected to fill the void for the younger generation. By understanding Pancasila as the ideology and foundation of the state, the younger generation can filter out all the outside values they accept.
Efforts to mainstream Pancasila values are the responsibility of all parties, including the public and state administrators.
The birth of BPIP through Presidential Decree No.7 of 2018 is also inseparable from President Jokowi’s political will so that the nation’s children can implement the values of Pancasila.
The HIP Bill polemic that had rolled in the middle of the community was a common thing and actually showed their concern for Pancasila.
Provided, don’t let this cause social division as a result of fighting against one another from a handful of parties who take advantage of this situation for momentary gain. This would certainly be very ironic if the discussion about Pancasila actually caused society to be dissolved in social conflict.
Pancasila is also not sufficient as a guide and guide, but it must also be implemented so that all systems of life as nation and state can be in harmony with Pancasila.
So it is hoped that the BPIP Bill, which has been officially discussed in the Indonesian Parliament, will no longer be questioned by certain parties.
We need to believe that if the BPIP Bill is passed into law, then there will be a firm legal reference that can become the legality of BPIP.
Pancasila is the breath and enthusiasm for the Republic of Indonesia, so this ideology needs to gain legal force as the final state ideology.
