Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman said that the driving force of the modern agricultural development revolution that could provide food sovereignly and even food for the world was campus. Because education and technology are interlinked.
Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman said, it is not politics that changes civilization but knowledge and technology. Campus is the driving force that spawned technological innovation and the younger generation of millennial agriculture.
The minister from South Sulawesi did indeed seem endless giving motivation to the agricultural academics as a young generation who had to give birth to modern agricultural innovation and technology. In order to motivate students, Amran expressed the 4-year period of the Jokowi-JK government, 2014 to 2018, that Indonesia’s agricultural development performance was very proud.
The government’s achievements in the agricultural sector are under the control of the Minister of alumni of the Faculty of Unhas, the largest in the history of Indonesia. Food inflation was initially 10.57 percent to 1.26 percent. He explained, if inflation rises, poverty rises and if inflation falls far, farmers will lose money. This is the ideal position, a measure of Indonesia’s economic growth.
The next achievement, continued Amran, food exports rose 29.7 percent worth Rp 1,360 trillion and investment rose 110 percent worth Rp 94.2 trillion. In addition, the contribution of the agricultural sector to increase national economic growth (GDP) rose 47.2 percent to Rp 1.375 trillion.
Arman said that in the past handover time, agricultural exports were Rp. 400 trillion, so there was an increase of approximately Rp. 100 trillion. Then there is the biggest el nino in history, but thank God we can pass.
According to Amran, this achievement was achieved through a breakthrough step or program, so that it does not necessarily occur, including through policy changes or changes in the system through single submission online and arranging permits for export documents as short as possible. The enthusiasm of Minister Amran in sharing his knowledge and experience is needed so that lecturers and students have a high enthusiasm to enter the agricultural sector and continue to innovate to produce modern agricultural technology, especially those capable of facing the era of agricultural industry 4.0. In the era of agriculture industry 4.0, there is no technology that cannot be developed in Indonesia. Many technological innovations that we produce, but more importantly the implementation in the field so that it is beneficial for agricultural development and the farmers themselves.
