Officers handling co-19 in Intan Jaya Regency, Papua, were attacked by the KKB. This unfortunate event brought 1 death. The people also condemned the cruelty of armed criminal groups that always caused tantrums.
As one of the easternmost regions in Indonesia, Papua, is a region that is quite prone to conflict. Recently there was even a tragic event when two people were shot by a KKB (armed criminal group) and sadly they were medical officers who were sent to Intan Jaya District. One person named Eunico Somou died immediately, while his colleague, Almalek Bagau, survived even though his body was seriously ill.
This shocking event in the Intan Jaya Regency, Wandai District, made the community commotion. They condemned this shooting, because 2 people who were shot were people assigned to deal with corona disease. These officers have contributed greatly to helping all patients who have contracted the covid-19 virus and are not afraid of the risk of contracting it. But his fate was very tragic and immediately died at the hands of a very cruel KKB member.
Intan Jaya is a remote district in Papua, and consists of 8 districts. Unfortunately, Wandai District is a place that does not have police protection. So that more frequent criminal events such as this shooting. Other new security guards are Homeo, Hitadipa and Sugapa. Even the Police Chief of Intan Jaya, AKB Yuli Karre Pongbala also has not been able to provide complete clarification to journalists, because the location of the Wandai district is far and remote.
The shooting of the co-19 officer was not the first time. Armed Criminal Groups had previously shot employees of one of the largest companies in Papua, threw hot lead at guard cars and food trucks in Tembagapura, and even dared to shoot at the Task Force Amole Brimob Iwaka. Their actions against the law truly disturb the community and must be immediately dealt with so that there are no more tragic events.
Why did Armed Criminal Groups dare to shoot guard cars and even kill innocent co-19 officers? It could be that they are angry because their request was not granted. They want Papua to separate from Indonesia, so they are determined to commit violence and try hard to create their own country.
All people who symbolize the Indonesian government such as officers who handle co-19 and also the police, they automatically hate. Because they consider the officer as a barrier to Papuan independence. They became radicals and extremists, and did not hesitate to shoot dead people they considered their enemies.
To realize the ideals of liberating Papua, armed criminal groups use all kinds of methods. Among other things, there are those who dare to disguise themselves as security guards at the largest company in Papua, to get inside information. So they planned to attack the place, which was considered to steal the produce of Papua, but it didn’t. Armed Criminal Groups also dared to directly shoot their enemies to death and act very cruelly.
Therefore, when there are arrests of members of armed criminal groups, they will be immediately dealt with with a terrorist, no longer sentenced to prison. It is expected that with this crackdown, it could be a shock therapy so that other friends who are members of the KKB still think if they will commit violence again. They are also expected to be able to rejoin Indonesia and not have to form a new country.
The public certainly opposes the actions of armed criminal groups who dare to shoot officers who handle co-19. Even the indigenous people of Papua also feel uneasy about the emergence of the KKB and also hate their actions. They did not agree with the ideals of the KKB to free themselves, because they were still loyal to Indonesia.
