The existence of decisive or repressive measures in the form of sanctions is very necessary for people who still continue to violate the regulation of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB). Because the PSBB itself was set to narrow the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Prosecutor General ST Burhanuddin told the Chairman of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Covid-19 Handling Doni Munardo so that the PSBB implemented in several regions could be carried out effectively.
Burhanuddin gave input so that the three-day socialization of the PSBB was carried out, the next three days were preventive, and the next three days were exactly the repressive seventh day.
This policy should be enforced with discipline, because people continue to not want to know and are still roaming outside the house. Is not by narrowing the spread of Covid-19, new cases will soon decrease and the pandemic will soon pass? That’s the scenario that is still being done in the hope that the plague will end. There is no other way but to keep trying as hard as possible to combat the corona virus.
In addition, decisive action also needs to be taken considering that there are still many people who are ignorant and disobedient. In fact, in an area the people are far more fierce than the officers who bring order to impose restrictions. The act seemed to disrespect the authorities. It’s nothing, but PSBB itself is for the public good. Therefore, this needs to be dealt with firmly. Police officers should, after socializing and prevailing, also follow up like sanctions if there is still no change in community behavior.
So far, based on the results of a meeting held by the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) that the efforts undertaken in optimizing PSBB are by persuasive action and education to the community. However, these efforts only move a part of the community and there are still many who violate and neglect.
For this reason, the persuasive movement alone is not effective enough to bring order to the people in running the CBDR. Decisive action or sanctions are needed for this policy to be truly optimal. Because if it is only an appeal, then there will be no increase in community discipline even the people who were initially disciplined may be slackened seeing no firmness.
Members of the Republic of Indonesia DPR Commission II PDI-P faction Hugua also considered that there had to be strict action for PSBB violators.
Hugua said based on the opinion of the Imperial College Covi d-19 Response Team scientists , it took around 18 months or more to find a corona vaccine. Therefore, there is a need for a systematic program and sufficient funding to prevent the outbreak from spreading before the vaccine is found.
The programs, he said, were aimed at mitigating disasters focused on slowing the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic by reducing staff activities such as social distancing, at home, keeping clean and wearing masks and other things done for three full months.
Next is the suspension of disasters where when the number of infected starts decreases, the activity is focused on efforts to change the direction of the outbreak, among others by establishing a rapid test, effective lockdown on the infected area and other necessary activities.
Hugua called on legal experts and political elites to reduce public opinion. The critics are no exception, so that their attitude must be restrained so that the period of the pandemic is over.
In optimizing all policies that are enforced, we need one command. Together, they work together and act together for the safety of our beloved nation.
