Jakarta, CIDISS – A reshuffle indications of his cabinet implicitly had been told by the President of Indonesia Joko Widodo when answering some questions about reshuffle from the media in Presidential Palace, Jakarta, sometimes ago. “Can be the first month, second month, third month, fourth month, etc,” said president who familiarly called by Jokowi, January, 8th 2016. The other indication reappear when he come to Brebes, Central Java on April, 11th 2016. “Until now, we discuss continually. But, until now not yet,” said President Jokowi.
Then, when actually reshuffle will be done? The only God and President Jokowi who can established it. The rest, all the ministers and politics elite or professionals have to follow and wait for the time.
Unfortunately, the condition is sometimes overlooked by ministers or political elites who may potentially be involved in the work of cabinet reshuffle. In fact, sometimes ago had appeared tensions between PDI-P and PKB as a result of the issue if the position of Marwan Jafar, Minister for Rural, Rural Development and Transmigration and cadres of PKB shaken by PDIP. Fortunately, this condition does not last long, as Cak Min, coriander PKB has confirmed that his party had made peace with the PDI-P. “It is peace with PDIP,” said Cak Min brief in Jakarta, 10/04/2016.
Cabinet reshuffle is something quite risky for the political elite, because it is a part of the existence of each political party. Not only that, the reshuffle is also often associated with the term “giving away the title of” from president to the supporting parties. Thus, more and more cadres who became a minister, the greater the role of the political parties to give effect to the various government programs and the party will be more known by the public.
Whatever the terminology, the reshuffle is something that must be done by the president when his ministers are not able to show the best performance. Because, if it is not supported by the minister competent and qualified, then the various programs that have been implemented will not be realized and would have an impact on public confidence in the capacity of president. During this time, the ministers who support the work of the president is the best cadres of the coalition parties and the professionals who are considered qualified. Here we need to recall that the reshuffle is the prerogative right of the president. So, there is no one party that could interfere or sued as well as with various political parties form the government cabinet coalition. The coalition parties should be selfless and really for the welfare of the people and not for the welfare of the party alone only.
So, when the reshuffle will be made by President Jokowi in the middle of this issue that has become more pronounced? Tomorrow, the next day, another week, another month, or another year? Only the president has the right to decide! [DA]
