Bali – The IESF Bali 14th WEC 2022 event has officially opened, the esports event is considered very capable of continuing to boost the economic and tourism sectors in Indonesia through the concept of sport tourism.
PB ESI’s success in holding the Indonesia Esports Summit: Bali 14th World Esports Championships 2022 has had many positive impacts.
One of them is regarding the development of the sport tourism ecosystem which is indeed a concept presented by PBESI in this event.
Not only that, but the continuity of this international esport event also contributes to the economic sector and even to the tourism sector in the country.
So that after being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic some time ago, it is hoped that these sectors will recover quickly.
This is of course because there will be lots of visitors, especially foreigners who come directly to the Island of the Gods, so that at the same time Indonesia can promote the beauty of nature and the variety of Balinese culture in the eyes of the international community.
In particular, the implementation of the IESF Bali 14th WEC 2022 will also contribute to the development of the digital and esports industry in Indonesia because it will be able to present many Indonesian athletes who can compete on the world stage.
Indonesia, as the host and organizer itself, should feel very proud because this event has been officially recorded in the Guinness Book of Records as the world record holder for outdoor esports events with the most followers in the world.
This is because it is known that up to 105 countries have participated, with more than 600 esports athletes from around the world competing to win the world title in Bali.
Daily Chairperson of the Indonesian Esports Executive Board (PB ESI), Komjen Pol Drs. Bambang Sunarwibowo said that the international event which was held in Bali received a lot of support from industry players, including anyone who comes to the Island of the Gods can simultaneously enjoy the natural beauty there.
Of course, this will further support the sport tourism ecosystem and at the same time increase the creative economy sector to national tourism.
“We also see the support of Indonesian creative industry players, as well as witness the beautiful panorama of Bali which will be the backdrop for the spectacular competition stages that will be held. An affirmation that this is the true face of esports,” said Bambang Sunarwibowo
With the rise of the world of esports, as well as being able to become a driving force for economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The face of a new sport that is growing rapidly and is developing into an industry with great economic, social and cultural potential. The new sport branch is not only capable of being a forum for actualization and world-class achievements for young people from all over the nation, but also has the potential to act as a social currency for post-pandemic economic recovery,” added the PBESI Daily Chair.
“Esports is a sports industry that is capable of driving the rise of the creative economy and tourism through the concept of sport tourism, the promotion of national culture on the world stage through the development of local games made by the nation’s children,” he said.
Meanwhile, President of the International Esports Federation (IESF), Vlad Marinescu explained that his party continues to encourage esports athletes in the world to unite and respect each other.
“The journey of esport until now has been a dream since 3 years ago and jointly it can be supported by various world sports organizations. We continue to encourage all esport athletes to uphold mutual respect, love and appreciation for each other among other athletes,” he explained.
“Esports is the newest sport, and the biggest, fastest sport today and has a way of working that is similar to traditional sports in terms of its value to be able to build us all healthier. We must continue to learn from traditional sports about hard training and mutual respect, these are all forms of responsibility,” added Vlad.
On the same occasion, the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora RI), Prof. Dr. Zainudin Amali stated that IESF Bali 14th WEC 2022 was a big leap and a new historical point for Indonesia’s esports contribution to the world.
“This is a special moment for Indonesian esports to make a big leap in its vision as the leading force in Asia and even in the world. Hopefully this event will be the starting point for the start of a new history to make a major contribution to esports for the nation and the state and the world, of course,” he said.
