Cidiss. DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan plans to extend the application of vehicle restrictions on a number of streets in the capital city with an odd-even system after the 2018 Asian Games are finished, Anis plans this step after seeing the results of even the odd oddity itself, vehicle density decreases, so that the habit already exist in the community does not need to be built from the beginning again and considering Jakarta will hold an International event which will be held soon one of them is the Asian Para Games 2018. Jakarta will be the main location of the 2018 Asian Para Games which take place on 6-13 October 2018.
Anies explained, to take the decision to continue to even odd post-Asian Games, it did not only take input from experts. Because, who feels the immediate impact is the community. So before the establishment of an even odd odd extension is applied.
The Governor of DKI Anies held a Forum Group Discusion(FGD) involving Jakarta Police, Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency, DKI Jakarta Communication, Informatics and Statistics Agency, Road Transportation Sector DKI Transportation Agency, Pedestrian Coalition, Leaded Gasoline Removal Committee, Community Indonesian Transportation, Institute of Transportation Studies, commuter line mania users, Transjakarta mania users, Jakarta Transportation Discussion Forum, to the Jakarta bicycle community, so this determination is not a one-sided policy of the Regional Government. For this reason, the continuation provisions will be announced after the FGD is complete. If the community input is positive to continue, there will certainly be modifications.
The head of the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency , Bambang Prihartono, said that the expansion of the odd-even system on the DKI protocol road as a support for Asian Games transportation was quite effective. In terms of speed and number of passengers, public transport has increased. That is, even odd systems as a temporary traffic control system before the implementation of Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) can be done to overcome traffic congestion in the City of Jakarta.
