Corona, which has yet to escape from Indonesia, makes the government act aggressively in eradicating it. Apart from re-promoting health protocols, the government is also diligent in holding mass rapid tests. Also supports Covid-19 vaccine research. All of this for the sake of the Indonesian people so that they will be free from Corona.
The Covid-19 task force team noted that the growth of Corona patients has recently increased, even reaching 2,000 people per day. The Covid-19 drug combination has been found but the vaccine is not yet in circulation. This has made the government act more aggressively to handle it, when compared to the steps at the beginning of the pandemic, so that this situation will quickly pass.
One of the government’s actions is to reopen air and land transportation routes, but all passengers must carry out a rapid test as a condition before boarding a train or plane. Rapid tests can also be carried out in laboratories that work with airlines. The number of passengers is limited, so it still meets the rules of keeping distance.
Mass rapid tests are also being carried out in many cities. Especially in crowds such as main markets and highways. Every passer-by is required to take a rapid test and wait for the results. If proven positive, he is immediately taken to the hospital for further treatment. Don’t be angry if it’s positive, rather than suddenly dying of Corona.
The government also eliminates the cost of caring for Corona patients who are borne via BPJS. So people who are affected by the Covid-19 virus don’t need to be afraid when they have to be treated in hospital, because they don’t have to spend a lot of money. With isolation in a special room and intensive care for at least 2 weeks, many patients recover and can return to their activities.
So that the Corona vaccine can be inaugurated immediately, the government is supporting its research. The team consisting of scientists, campus academics, and foreign researchers is working hard to make a Covid-19 vaccine. When he needed vaccine volunteers, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil immediately agreed and gave an example, that being a volunteer means saving other people.
The steps taken by the government are in line with WHO’s request to be more aggressive in dealing with Corona. According to Dr. Poonam Khetrapal Singh, regional director of WHO, the situation is developing rapidly. We must increase all efforts to prevent the Covid-19 virus. Because the pandemic due to Corona has become an international case, not only in Indonesia.
The government also continues to socialize health protocols such as maintaining distance, washing hands regularly, and especially the obligation to wear masks. Because now many people are starting to ignore wearing masks and think this pandemic is over. Even though the number of patients is increasing due to the lack of discipline in society in adhering to health protocols.
Masks are very important to wear because Corona can be transmitted through dirty air. Doctor Reisa Broto Asmoro stated that the effectiveness of wearing masks can only occur when in one environment at least 70% of people wear them. So don’t forget to wear a mask before leaving the house, don’t just wear a faceshield. Also make sure the mask is clean.
To deal with stubborn people, the local governments of DKI Jakarta and West Java, and other regions provide social punishment for those who do not wear masks. They can also choose another punishment in the form of a fine of 150,000-250,000 rupiah. These punishments and fines are for a deterrent effect, so that people are more disciplined in obeying health protocols.
Tri Rismaharini, the mayor of Surabaya, also participated in the mask raid. He walked around to the village carrying a toa, then reminded the people in groups to keep their distance. Also asked why some are not wearing masks. Risma’s step was praised for being effective in reminding people to wear masks.
The government is doing various things so that Indonesia can immediately be free of Corona. Among them are required to carry out a rapid test before boarding a train or airplane. Mass rapid tests are also frequently performed. There are often mask raids and offenders are immediately given fines or social penalties.
