The Indonesian government secured 21.2 million doses of Sinovac vaccine as an additional vaccine stock . Therefore, the public does not need to worry about the issue of vaccine scarcity.
Siti Nadia Tarmizi as Spokesperson for the Covid-19 Vaccination of the Ministry of Health said the vaccine was received in finished and semi-finished forms. The arrival this time at once became a large number. The vaccine will be used in August 2021.
Furthermore, the vaccine that is already in finished form will be physically inspected and quality controlled by the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency to ensure its safety and quality. Meanwhile, the half-finished vaccine will be processed by Bio Farma for two weeks before being examined by the POM.
Nadia said that approximately 5 to 7.5 million doses of vaccine are available from Bio Farma every week, so that there will be 21.5 million vaccines ready to be used in August. He said that currently the government has only received about 30 percent of the total requirement of 460 million doses of vaccine. Nadia asked the local government to set priorities.
Currently, 50 percent of the vaccine distribution is focused on Java-Bali, and from that area the distribution focuses on the agglomeration of 57 regencies and cities. Vaccine distribution may not be the same, because it must be focused on districts and cities where the number of cases and the rate of transmission are very high.
In an effort to reduce the rate of transmission, the government is collaborating with the TNI-Polri to encourage the acceleration of the first dose of vaccination in districts and cities, especially on the islands of Java and Bali. The private sector is also cooperating with opening vaccination centers, such as Traveloka, which provides vaccinations at the airport.
According to Traveloka Head of Corporate Reza Amirul, within two weeks the vaccination centers at Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport had served 14 thousand people. In addition to opening a vaccination center at the airport, Traveloka is also a collaboration with MNC cares with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, which is still running today. Reza said the public could register for free.
In addition, Indonesia also secures the availability of vaccine stocks for the community. A total of 3.5 million doses of Moderna ready-to-use vaccines arrived in the country on Sunday, August 1, 2021. The Moderna vaccine arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, on a Qatar Airways flight with flight number QR-8014.
In addition to moderna, Indonesia will also receive 620,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine on August 2, 2021. The arrival of the two types of vaccines is an effort by the government to secure the availability of vaccines for the public.
Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy said he expressed his gratitude for the presence of the 32nd and 33rd stages of the vaccine, this is clear evidence that the government continues to work hard to deliver the Covid-19 vaccine to meet vaccine needs in Indonesia. .
Indirectly, the Indonesian government has secured around 440 million doses of vaccines that are coming in stages. The availability of vaccine stocks supports the government’s efforts to achieve the vaccination target of two million doses per day to accelerate the creation of communal immunity.
Muhadjir said that the cooperation of various parties is very much needed in accelerating the vaccination program, either through the private sector, professional organizations, community organizations, and other institutions. Furthermore, the government also always guarantees that the vaccines given to the public are safe, efficacious and halal vaccines. In addition, the vaccination program also needs to be supported by strict implementation of health protocols.
He mentioned that the government continues to take important steps to accelerate health recovery, raise productivity and end the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. One of the steps taken by the government is through the policy of Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).
Currently, the challenge of the vaccination process is the massive spread of hoaxes. Therefore, people need to check information from information sources and do not rush to share news just because the title is horrendous.
The public also does not need to withdraw from the vaccine, especially since the vaccine has been approved by BPOM and MUI, so that the vaccine that will be given to the community is guaranteed to be safe, quality and efficacious to protect someone from corona virus infection.
