Corona is still a scourge for the people of Indonesia. Every day there are reports of the number of patients infected with the Covid-19 virus. Remember the old adage ‘it’s better to prevent than cure’, so you still have to obey health protocols such as diligent hand washing, keep a distance, and wear a mask. Instead of getting hit by Corona then languishing.
1,268 people tested positive for the Covid-19 virus, on July 7, 2020. The total number of patients infected with Corona was 66,226. That is the data provided by Achmad Yurianto, a government spokesman in dealing with the Covid-19 virus when met at a press conference in Jakarta. Updates from this task force are always given so that people remain alert.
Why do we still have to be vigilant? Because indeed the Covid-19 virus has no vaccine. The medicine is already available but the price reaches hundreds of thousands of rupiah. And even then not sold in pharmacies for the general public. When it has been infected with a virus, then the lungs will feel heavy due to fluid intake and it certainly feels very bad.
Don’t ignore health protocols such as wearing a mask and maintaining body hygiene. When you leave the house, you have to take a shower, wash your hair, and change clothes. We are also required to increase body immunity by taking vitamin C and eating fresh fruits and vegetables. Wear a cloth mask and only wear it for a maximum of 4 hours, so bring a spare mask.
In addition to maintaining physical fitness and hygiene, we must keep our distance from others. When new normal starts, public places such as coffee shops are opened and may receive dine in orders again. But we also have to wear a mask or face shield. Do not even sit side by side, let alone hang out and have coffee all night.
Jangn never underestimated Corona, because when it was infected, the presentation could recover still 50-50. If the body’s immunity is strong, it will recover after 14 days. But when you have a congenital disease such as tuberculosis or asthma, the recovery time will take longer. Do we want to search for death just because we are lazy to wear masks and then contract the Covid-19 virus?
If the ICU Hospital is too full of Corona patients, the medical staff will be overwhelmed and find another room. When the hospital’s capacity is full, it will also be transferred to other hospitals that do not necessarily have complete facilities. Especially if we live in a small town or a remote village, where do you want to be treated? Want to go outside the area is also vulnerable.
Carelessness in ignoring the most basic health protocols such as being lazy to wear masks also makes the medical staff so irritated. They even made the hashtag #IndonesiaTerah up on social media, because a lot of people think that Corona is just a common cold.
We should appreciate the sacrifice of those who are overheated and exhausted when wearing PPE clothes. They are also prone to contracting Corona from patients and don’t even dare to go home. For fear of infecting his family at home. In fact there are nurses who get pregnant and finally get Corona, and fall while on duty.
What’s so hard about washing hands and wearing a mask? If you feel stuffy when wearing a cloth mask, look for soft and large porous material so we can breathe freely when wearing it. Don’t throw it away. Of course we don’t want to suffer the fate of Wuhan which is like a city of death when there are too many Corona patients.
Health protocols are made to save ourselves. So don’t ever ignore it. Stay active and keep your distance from other people. Hopefully this way, the number of Corona patients will decrease and Indonesia will be free from the Covid-19 virus. )* Active writer in the Press Circle and Cikini Students
