The chairman of the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI) Kutai Kartanegara, Prof. Yonathan Panggi, expressed his gratitude to President Joko Widodo for choosing Kutai Kartanegara and North Penajam Paser in East Kalimantan (Kaltim) as the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago.
“PGRI Kukar positively appreciates and is very grateful to President Jokowi, who has chosen the East Kalimantan region, especially PPU Regency and Kukar Regency as the IKN Nusantara area,” Yonathan told reporters in Tenggarong, Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan, Tuesday (1/11).
He believes that IKN will open a golden opportunity for the East Kalimantan region to be more advanced on par with the regions in Java.
“Especially in the field of education and economic welfare,” he said.
Yonathan hopes that the central government and all related authorities can pay attention to the education sector so that later human resources (HR) born from IKN will be able to compete with human resources outside their area.
“In the field of human resource development, the key word lies in the development of educational institutions. Therefore, PGRI Kukar has prepared international standard schools from elementary, junior high, high school, and university levels in Jonggon, Loakulu District, Kukar Regency which are included in the IKN area,” he said.
Previously, President Joko Widodo or Jokowi again spoke about the target of developing the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago as a modern city.
He believes this will be the spirit for all Indonesian people to make it happen. However, Jokowi said, all people must work together in the development of IKN. He said that the development of IKN is a big government agenda carried out for the progress of the state and nation.
In addition, President Jokowi also emphasized that the development of the National Capital City (IKN) does not need to be doubted. According to him, the relocation of the state capital to IKN East Kalimantan already has a clear legal umbrella through the IKN Law which has been approved by the DPR.
