Drugs is increasingly become a real threat to Indonesian citizens. The number of citizens that are very huge become the market target by drug dealers. Drug dealers are distributing the drugs to various peoples. Even drug trafficking has reached the place that has a high level of security, which is a prison. The entry of drugs in prisons indicate that dealers are always looking for loopholes to distribute, either by tricking the officer or bribing officers.
The disclosure of the drug cases in Prisons has often happened in Indonesia. This happens because the drug presents a huge advantage for dealers and people around it. Unlawful remain to be done for the sake of wealth without thinking about the negative impacts. Trafficking of drugs from and in prisons is considered safe enough by the drug dealers. Misdirection is easier to do because of strict supervision of a prison, so that drug may be controlled by inmates.
It was happened in Malabero Prison, Bengkulu City. National Narcotics Agency Bengkulu Province sniffed and catched the drug dealers that operate through prisons. The Drug dealers coorporated with other prisoners. Even riot happened due to provocation organized other prisoners while officer arrested the drug dealers. The unrest led to a fire and five inmates were burned to death. This event illustrates the strength of the vicious circle of drugs to form a criminal group to protect each other. They dare to anarchy despite being in prisons.
The errors alto must be seen on the side of the government, especially law enforcement officials have a contribute significantly. Monitoring and enforcement will be an overview of the government’s commitment in the fight against drugs. That event was also caused by lack of adequate facilities and human resources that oversees convicts. Meanwhile, many prisons that inadequate and overloaded because of the number of inmates. For that it was needed seriousness of the government to establish surveillance of inmates so that the drug cannot be circulated both inside and through prisons.
