In an attempt to take advantage of the technology, Coordinating Economic Minister Sofjan Djalil said on Tuesday that all ministries under his control would create a group in WhatsApp, a mobile messaging application, for coordination and communication.
He argued that this kind of communication would help save time, as ministers do not need to meet face to face to discuss something.
“So, we don’t need to meet,” he said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Sofjan hoped that the technology would foster the performance of the current Cabinet and encourage economic growth.
The group, he added, would also include Bank Indonesia governor Agus Martowardojo to ensure that programs between the government and the central bank were in line.
“So, there will be no gap between the two institutions because supporting policies are very much needed,” he said.
