Meanwhile, the Ministry of PUPR is currently completing the renovation of several infrastructures in Bali to welcome the G20 Summit. The renovation has entered the final stage of reconstruction and is claimed to be environmentally friendly, as a form of Indonesia’s support in overcoming climate change.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said increasing accessibility and connectivity of road and bridge infrastructure networks to provide smoothness, safety, security, as well as the convenience of road users.

The PUPR Ministry also ensures that the improvement of connectivity infrastructure in Bali is not only for supporters of the G20 Summit. However, it can also support the community’s economy.

“Improved road access will also support the economy of the people in the surrounding area with the rise of the tourism sector,” said Minister Basuki.

Road and bridge infrastructure support in Bali includes the preservation of the Simpang Pesanggaran to Nusa Dua segment, the preservation of the Jimbaran-Uluwatu Road, and the arrangement of the roundabout, pedestrian and median landscapes starting from the Ngurah Rai Airport Road section to the location of the G20 implementation, including the arrangement of access roads and Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) parking area as well as improving the quality of the Tampak Siring access road.

The work was carried out by contractor PT Wijaya Karya at a state budget cost of Rp 241.4 billion. Currently, the progress of the work has reached 95.95 percent with a target of completion on November 10, 2022.

To improve quality and aesthetics, all road and bridge preservation works are accompanied by massive beautification and reforestation, making them more environmentally friendly.
