West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) is ready to prove that their tourism remains strong after the earthquake struck. NTB will not dissolve in sadness and now they are ready to rise.
Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Zulkieflimansyah said the tourism sector of NTB was still moving on the right track, even though it had slowed due to the earthquake disaster a few months ago. Zul said, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) advised NTB to accelerate the recovery process so that economic growth in NTB would re-rise as before the earthquake.
Zul said, increasing the competitiveness and development of human resources, was the message of Pak Jokowi and for NTB it was wanted to focus on building tourism. Zul said, NTB has great potential from the tourism sector. He considered, the nature of NTB is known to be very exotic and beautiful which invites tourists to admire. This, he said, became one of NTB’s advantages in attracting tourists. Zul added, the NTB Provincial Government continued to encourage the improvement of several hospitality infrastructure facilities damaged by the earthquake.
Zul continued, yes we want damaged facilities, repaired cracks, hopefully next summer will be back to normal. In addition, Zul will also increase international direct flights to Lombok. According to him, the accessibility of international direct flights is one of the main keys in increasing the number of tourists to NTB.
Zul said, we will increase direct flights, hopefully starting March there will be AirAsia from Australia, the frequency from Kuala Lumpur here will be increased, we can also multiply from Singapore. NTB must continue to tackle competition where destinations in other regions also continue to grow. The development of tourist destinations in this area must also be balanced with the development of the human resources of the people. So that promotion efforts carried out outside the region and even abroad will not be in vain.
