President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) continues to monitor the implementation of simultaneous local election held today. President Communications Team Ari Dwipayana said the President is surveilling and continue to receive reports from Bogor Palace.
“The President continues to monitor and receive reports on the situation development on the field from Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security, Interior Minister and the Chief of National Police from time to time,” Ari said in Jakarta on Wednesday, Dec 9.
Previously, the President has urged the people of Indonesia in 269 regions to actively participate in using their votes properly. “Don’t forget to come to the voting poll and choose a leader determined by the people,” he said.
The president has instructed the Interior Minister and Indonesian Police Chief to ensure that the implementation and safety of the election is running smoothly.
