Jokowi Visited Tanjung Selor, North Kalimantan Province

Joko Widodo arrived in Tarakan, Thursday (5 October 2017)

Tarakan – CIDISS. Kalimantan is an area that is part of the government’s priority in regional development. North Kalimantan Province (Kaltara) as the youngest province continues receiving attention from the government. CPNS Formation year 2017, CPNS registration quota in Kaltara province reached 500 people and more in all fields.

On Thursday, 5 October 2017 at 7.07 pm WIB, President and entourage were greeted by the Governor of North Kalimantan, Irianto Lambrie and his wife, Hj Rita Ratina, on the steps of the plane. Arriving in Tarakan, President and entourage went directly to the hotel where he was staying during a working visit to several locations in North Kalimantan, Friday (6/10).

Accompanying President and Mrs. Iriana on flights to North Kalimantan, involve Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning / Head of BPN Sofyan Djalil, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono and Chief of Staff of Presidency Teten Masduki.

Since Indonesia’s independence, Bulungan regency has never been visited by President of Indonesian Republic. Kaltara Governor Irianto Lambrie said, President Jokowi visit to Kaltara is the most important and needs to be remembered. It noted, Jokowi as the first Indonesian President who visits in Tanjung Selor.

“So far, there has never been a president visit to Tanjung Selor. Even if visit to Kaltara province, President visited to Tarakan or border area. And then, it can be history for us,” he said quoted from kaltim.tribunnews.com.

One unique habit of president Jokowi during a working visit that the president’s request to eat at the stall. Moreover when visit to Kaltara, some time ago. While in Tarakan, Jokowi is eating in a Warung Teras, while in Nunukan, the President eats at the Warung Bambu Kuning.

During working visit to North Kalimantan Province, President Jokowi reviewed and checked the development of Embung Rawasari in Kelurahan Karang Harapan, Tarakan Barat. Then, Jokowi attended the distribution of land certificates to 1,550 people of Kaltara. And Jokowi also attend the distribution of Smart Indonesia Card (KIP) and PKH (Family Hope Program).

After completing his work visit agenda to the Province of North Kalimantan (Kaltara), President Joko Widodo accompanied by First Lady Iriana, directly continued the journey to Brunei Darussalam for a state visit.

The state visit of the President and First Lady to attend the 50th anniversary celebration of the Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah ascended the throne.
