“We and the world is still owed to the Palestinian people. Helpless world witnessed the suffering of the Palestinian people, and living in fear and injustice as a result of the occupation that lasted so long,”said the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo when delivering a speech in the opening of the Asian-African Conference in Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Wednesday, April 22, 2015, as quoted CNN Indonesia .

President Jokowi said, we must not turn away from the suffering of the Palestinian people, we must continue to fight with them. We must support the inception of an independent Palestinian state.

Additionally, Jokowi invites all countries in Asia and Africa to support the strengthening of the role of the United Nations (UN). He considered that the UN was powerless to overcome various global conflicts that occur at this time and stop the violence in some countries, including Palestine. Jokowi highlight more clearly the gap between developing countries and poor countries in the world, reported tempo.co

“When there is a group of rich countries are able to change the world with their strength, then the global imbalances clearly brings misery. And the more noticeable when the UN is helpless, “he said.

Furthermore, the president Jokowi present, use of force without UN mandate as we have seen, has been denying the existence of the world organization that we have. Therefore, we urge the Asian-African nation to reform UN in order to function optimally as a world organization that promotes justice for all, for all nations, quoted BBC.Indonesia
