The formation of the KAMI (Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia) by national figures such as Din Syamsudin could block the government’s steps. Especially in an effort to resolve the Covid-19 pandemic, which not only affects the health sector but also the economy. Their existence is considered to be disturbing to the public because it only worsens the situation that is currently deprived of dealing with infectious disease outbreaks.
The existence of the Coalition for the Action to Save Indonesia (KAMI) made the public stare because there were many national figures who were united in one organization. For example Din Syamsudin, Rocky Gerung, Said Didu, etc. The goal is not to create a political party, but to admit to gathering to save Indonesia from a government they consider to be zolim.
In addition, KAMI want to oversee the government and they think that the role of the DPR is not too controlling the president. Because only a few members of the legislation came from opposition parties. So, their version, Indonesia is going to the wrong destination. Even though the president has worked hard to restore Indonesia’s finances so that it will rise again during the pandemic.
The figures who join KAMI are well-known former officials in Indonesia. The government has never prohibited the formation of coalitions and as a democracy, all citizens are free to express their opinions. However, what is worrying is the influence of the KAMI leaders who can change the way people think.
If KAMI continue to criticize the government and are dissatisfied with the president’s work, then the public may also defect and refuse to obey the regulations. This made it difficult for the government, because the regulations were aimed at mutual safety. For example, by complying with health protocols, paying taxes, being alert to Covid-19 in villages, and so on. Thus, the presence of KAMI can hamper the Government’s efforts to deal with Covid-19, which it is feared will only make things worse.
Ordinary people will take the bodies of corona patients because they think covid-19 is only a conspiracy from the government. They are also lazy to wear masks because they feel disappointed by the president. KAMI influence will indirectly ‘brainwash’ many people to hate the government and always break the rules.
Hate speech from an action coalition that has the mode of wanting to save Indonesia can have a domino effect like this. Indonesia needs more direct action, not criticism of the government. It would be nice for them to respect the pandemic period and make donations. Instead of inciting the people to hate the officials, the president and the government.
Bad effects like this should be watched out by the government. It’s okay to give input to the president and government officials, but don’t provoke the public to bully him. Opposition groups may criticize origin in a polite way. Democracy can work as long as neither party likes to throw slander and hoaxes.
Roby Nurhadi, a political observer from Unas, stated that KAMI should not appear to add to new problems in Indonesia. The figures in KAMI are experienced seniors. They should be wiser in responding to problems in Indonesia. In that sense, don’t just seek attention and make fun of it for the sake of increasing popularity.
Moreover, the government is still focused on dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. They should have taken part in social action if they really wanted to save Indonesia. Don’t even hinder the government’s steps to put society in order and enforce the rules of health protocol. As well as disrupting the atmosphere in the midst of a pandemic by creating new issues.
If KAMI want to save Indonesia, then they should also help in dealing with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. For example, by helping the capital of MSMEs and small traders, holding cheap markets, helping with corona vaccine research, and others. It’s not just selling talk and criticism without any real solutions.
The action coalition to save Indonesia should really save Indonesia from the threat of crisis and provide assistance to those affected by the corona storm. Don’t even hinder the government’s steps to overcome the pandemic by provoking, issuing hate speech, and criticizing the president’s actions.
