Since the 2019 General Election campaign began, all Indonesian people have been divided and divided into several groups. It could be said that the 2019 General Election was so draining of emotions, thoughts, and energy.
We can see on television and the virtual world, all people from all elements of society intervene to support their chosen partner. Starting from politicians, artists, artists, academics to ordinary people all of them helped enliven this 2019 Election.
They show their participation by moving in all fields that they consider influential in the victory of their chosen partner.
Even such participation is seen in the universe of cyberspace such as WA, Facebook, Instagram, Line, and so on. However, it turned out that their efforts to show participation brought some quite serious problems during the campaign period yesterday and the most obvious was the number of fake news or hoaxes that spread in cyberspace and slander and provocation that actually did not reflect Indonesian culture based on Pancasila.
The emergence of hoax news has a significant impact on the sustainability of peace in this country. As a result of the hoax, many people fight in cyberspace. This is dangerous if the strategy efforts by using hoaxes and slander are ridden by the interests of third parties or outside parties who want to make Indonesia destroyed and the replacement of the Pancasila basis.
This is of course very unfortunate considering the main slogan that we always echo is Unity in Diversity or different but still one. Just because of the news that is not necessarily true, many are willing to fight and get rid of the spirit of Indonesian unity that we always glorify.
Not yet finished the problem of the rise of hoax news, we have been troubled by the proliferation of invitations to Golput and probocative news about intimidation. This is evident from how many people in cyberspace campaign for themselves as Golput. What is even more sad is that they decided to Golput only because they were fed up with the many fake news that spread on their social media.
So there is no doubt that in the campaign period of the 2019 Election many national figures emerged who raised their voices regarding the massive Golput movement on social media. However, now everything is over. In each competition there must be losers and winners. All presidential election participants must be ready to lose and be ready to win.
Participants who acknowledge their defeat have a great mental attitude. Conversely, winning participants remain humble and not arrogant. That is the meaning of a competition in any field, including in the General Election event. For this reason, we are supporting the results of this election peacefully because in the future there is something more important, namely how to bring this nation forward and prosperous.
