Lukas Enembe must act cooperatively in undergoing all legal processes that apply in Indonesia. Mainly because he is already officially a suspect in a corruption case.
After being officially named a suspect in a corruption case, the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, is still being discussed by the public because of his uncooperative attitude when he was about to be summoned by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
Regarding this, the Head of the KPK News Section, Ali Fikri explained that the anti-corruption commission had previously wanted to conduct an investigation into the alleged corruption case in Papua Province, which included the name of Lukas Enembe and made himself a suspect in the KPK investigation steps.
Not only that, even emphatically, Ali Fikri added that for every case examined by the KPK that goes up to the investigation stage, it means that in other words the KPK itself has at least two sufficient pieces of evidence. Therefore, in the case of Lukas Enembe, the KPK actually already has evidence.
So that all accusations or the determination of their status as a suspect have strong reasons accompanied by the concrete evidence. It is absolutely not true that there are still parties who think that it is as if the determination of Lukas Enembe as a suspect is a matter of politics or any discrimination.
Because precisely with all the evidence that has been collected and has been adequate, it means that objectively the Governor of Papua is a suspect in a corruption case. Furthermore, the Head of the KPK News Agency, Ali Fikri, again added that the evidence regarding Enembe’s corruption was not even one type.
According to him, the evidence was collected and obtained from the statements of witnesses, experts, defendants, letters to other instructions that were in accordance with the provisions of the criminal procedure law. Ali Fikri emphasized that all actions up to the investigation efforts carried out on Enembe were purely law enforcement efforts in Indonesia.
Indeed, true law enforcement must be carried out without selective discrimination, anyone with any condition and holding any position can still be subject to punishment if indeed he is proven guilty in accordance with the provisions of the law in force in the country.
In fact, the law enforcement efforts that have been carried out by the KPK to Lukas Enembe are so that Indonesia is able to become a complete legal state and can take action against anyone without much consideration as long as it is legally proven that he is guilty.
For this reason, because all the evidence already exists and is strong, including the investigation efforts carried out not at all in the context of politics or discrimination in any form, Ali Fikri, who also serves as KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Sector, firmly asked Lukas Enembe to act responsibly. cooperative in undergoing all legal processes at the KPK.
The expected cooperative attitude is that the Governor of Papua can fulfill all KPK summons in every examination process. According to him, with Lukas Enembe fulfilling the summons for examination, the case handling process can automatically be carried out and run much better, more effectively, efficiently, including in the context of providing legal certainty for the parties concerned.
For information, the KPK Investigative Team itself has submitted a summons to Lukas Enembe since September 7, 2022 for an examination which is scheduled for September 12, 2022, at the Mako Brimob Papua. Instead of fulfilling the call, the 55-year-old man could not attend and was only represented by his attorney.
When in fact the examination carried out at the Papua Mobile Brigade Headquarters was deliberately carried out by the KPK in order to make it easier to fulfill the summons in question, it turned out that he still did not come. Not only that, but in Papua itself, demonstrations have spread from Enembe supporters.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairperson of the Democratic Party, Benny K Harman, also appealed and requested that Lukas Enembe be able to strictly comply with the laws in force in Indonesia. Even though he is a fellow cadre of the Democratic Party, Enembe is still a suspect in a corruption case, so he must remain obedient to the rule of law.
Even the member of Commission III of the DPR RI also stated that his party would always support and respect every legal process in the country even though it happened to the cadres of the Democratic Party itself. So that in fact the party continues to support Enembe so that he can act cooperatively.
It is undeniable that Lukas Enembe must act cooperatively to undergo all legal processes that apply in Indonesia. All the cooperative actions taken by him are actually for the good of all parties, even for the good of this nation itself because it will show how the rules can be applied fairly without selective discrimination.
