At present we have entered a very modern era where digital technology has played a large role in the progress of civilization in Indonesia. The development of this technology makes the young generation of Indonesia or the Millennial generation can not be separated from the name of the gadget in their daily lives.
One of the negative sides of this technological development is the widespread spread of hoaxes in cyberspace. Even more so in 2019, which is where Indonesia is entering a political year.
This political climate raises irresponsible individuals who deliberately spread hoaxes to reach their goals. The hoaxes they send are generally in the form of ugliness from one of the political pairs that they don’t support.
They deliberately sell lies so that their chosen partner wins. We can find these false news on our social media, which is very threatening to the spirit of democracy and the unity of our country.
We as the Millennials of Indonesia and users of social media certainly cannot allow hoax news to spread easily in cyberspace because the future of the Indonesian state is in our hands. If we do not participate in fighting hoax news, the 2019 election will not run with quality and peace.
Election that is not qualified and dignified will stagnate Indonesia’s leadership sustainability program, aka running smoothly while we Indonesian people need certainty of sustainability of national development which is currently being intensified.
Therefore, as the millennial generation of the Medos era we must unite in fighting against hoax news and thus the healthy climate of the 2019 election will truly be realized and implemented. Let’s pray and work for a better and more advanced Indonesia by disseminating positive content in social media that fosters optimism and pride in the nation and the land of water.
