Ngurah Rai Airport presents New Facilities Welcoming IMF-World Bank 2018

CIDISS. I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport Bali presents several new facilities within the terminal to welcome 17,000 delegates from 189 countries that attend the annual IMF-World Bank 2018 meeting in Nusa Dua, 8-14 October 2018.

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) Faik Fahmi said, in addition to building and developing infrastructure on the air side, Angkasa Pura I also added several new facilities within the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport terminal in Bali. This is to ensure the smooth flow of arrivals and return of the grand event delegations of the 2018 IMF-World Bank annual meeting.

He also said that the effort was an effort to provide excellent service and create a passenger experience at the airport. Some of these facilities include x-ray smartlane, immigration autogate engine, orientation zone, and airport operation control center (AOCC).

X-ray smartlane in the screening area of the check point will speed up the process of inspecting prospective passengers. To autogate immigration, an autogate machine is provided as a standalone facility to scan passport passports. Currently there are six autogate machines available at the international arrival terminal and 10 units at the international departure terminal.

Faik Fahmi said that the existence of 16 immigration autogate machines would speed up the immigration inspection process. The total time taken by passengers when using the autogate engine is only 30 seconds, a relatively short time to pass through the immigration process. This will certainly increase passenger comfort.

Another new facility is the orientation zone. Having an elegant and innovative design, this area is designed as an attractive area that can function as a stress reliever for passengers. This Orientation zone is for passengers who have just passed an intense inspection process at the check-in and immigration check-in area.

Because this orientation zone is built to accommodate passengers who are going to the departure door, this area is also equipped with various information related to flight schedules and directions to the departure door. Like FIDS (Flight Information Display System), world clock, and airport directory, and walking distance which is useful to estimate the time and distance needed by potential passengers to reach the departure door, commercial area, facilities at the airport, and other locations in the international departure terminal . Another new facility is the airport operation control center (AOCC). This AOCC is not a facility directly related to prospective passengers, but facilities for airport stakeholders. AOCC is a control center to oversee operational activities on the air side and land side as well as all arrival and departure activities at the airport.

Faik Fahmi said, AOCC involved all stakeholders at the airport by integrating the systems owned by each stakeholder in order to operate effectively and efficiently. The new facilities at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport have been operated since the end of September 2018.

With the new facilities of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Denpasar, it is expected to facilitate and increase the comfort of the arrival and return process of the 2018 IMF-World Bank annual meeting delegates.
