CIDISS. The Rector of UIN Pontianak, Dr KH M Syarif MA gave his appreciation to the Police for his success in ending the riots of terrorism case (napiter) in Rutan Salemba, Mako Brimob. In the incident, five police officers were killed sadistically by the Mako Brimob Terrorism Prisoners.
The board of Nadhlatul Ulama (NU), KH M Syarif, said the police have shown their class in ending riot terrorism riots in Mako Brimob, Depok. In the midst of anger that its five members were cruelly killed, Polri was able to act professionally by refraining from attacking brutally.
Syarif said that this is thanks to the cold hand of Chief of Police General Police Tito Karnavian who chose soft approach approach. He is the strategist of the operation even when the incident was in Jordan.
Syarif said that in a situation of riots accompanied by the taking of police officers by terrorist prisoners, the approach must be prioritized before the action of ambush and assault or hard approach. Because if this last way precedence, he continued, most likely will multiply casualties.
Syarif explained, inside (detention room, red) there are a number of police officers who were held hostage. Of course can not be rash immediately attacked, can be more fatal then.
Syarif continued, counter terrorism through a soft approach does take time, not as fast as an approach that relies on violent means. The police even took about 36 hours to take over the situation. Therefore, Syarif asked not to misunderstand. Moreover, quickly accused the police of slow and unequivocal.
In addition, Syarif also regretted the reaction of some parties who easily point and blame certain parties and drag them to political problems. That attitude is considered not at all beneficial to the spirit of handling and countering terrorism in Indonesia. “So, do not confuse the atmosphere,” he explained.
With the incident in Mako Brimob, the performance of Police is correct using soft approach approach. Hopefully with this incident, the Police became an increasingly alert and quick to respond to all acts related to terrorism. And the community as religious people to maintain harmony, harmony, and kinship well together and must continue to support the Police by preventing or reporting any suspicious activities.
