Omnibus Law is currently the subject of discussion in many sectors, from political circles to student activists. Omnibus Law Cipta Karya Pun has gone through comprehensive discussions to absorb the aspirations of various elements of the nation, so that this regulation is in accordance with the principles of democracy.
This omnibus law idea originated from the disappointment of President Joko Widodo regarding the lack of investment visits in Indonesia. Though investment is an economic lubricant. Especially in the era of the digital economy.
Jokowi suspected that the lack of investors to Indonesia was due to the overlapping regulations. The complicated nature of the bureaucracy when managing licensing and obesity regulations has serious implications for the low interest in investment.
This was noted in the weak competitiveness of EODB investments, with the World Bank showing that Indonesia ranked 73 out of 190 countries.
Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Body (Baleg) of the House of Representatives Willy Aditya said, Omnibus Law was Jokowi’s commitment to economic democracy. In addition, the regulation is also considered necessary to protect Indonesia from the global crisis.
He mentioned economic democracy had been carried out. However, this step was taken because of coercion from outsiders, namely the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Whereas economic democracy now comes from a great leader. Willy considered that the steps taken by President Joko Widodo to propose an omnibus law were considered appropriate. According to him, the moment must be utilized as well as possible to prepare the Indonesian economy in facing the global crisis.
Of course this discussion is in accordance with the Principle of Democracy, where the step intensified by President Jokowi has received the majority of parliamentary support as much as 77 percent of legislators who are members of the government coalition.
Nevertheless the House of Representatives Legislative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia will still open the widest possible space for the public to provide input related to the Work Draft Law (RUU).
The legislative body will conduct a public test so that it can be a good facilitator of the government who wants to apply the basis of economic democracy with the ease of licensing and aspirations of trade unions.
In democracy, of course the rejection of an idea is a common thing, but we should not be easily ignited with various narratives to take actions that violate the constitution.
Even if there is an article that is considered detrimental, of course filing a lawsuit or judicial review can still be a way to file an objection. Do not let us be led by a variety of opinions that seemed to make the work omnibus copyright as a frightening specter.
The Omnibus Law Cipta Karya Bill is predicted to encourage labor-intensive industries that absorb a lot of jobs. So that the community is not easily divided with opinions formed by certain groups.
Each stakeholder has shown a good role in the discussion of the omnibus law, including those who initiated it, so this needs support, especially since Indonesia is a rule of law and a democratic country, so the discussion of this bill can open space for dialogue and broad public participation.
Do not let, the labor group politicized by certain interest groups behind the rejection of the Omnibus Law Bill. Surely it will look more elegant if the labor group and a number of organizations that reject the omnibus law can discuss and find solutions together with the government and the House of Representatives.
We must know that the Omnibus Law on Employment has the perspective of equal social welfare, aka social welfare equality. This Omnibus Law means “for everything” related to a product of regulatory regulation.
The aim of the government to make a legal revolution about the work copyright must be interpreted as an effort to improve the economy and create massive investment growth. Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo assesses that the Omnibus Law on the Employment Bill will have a positive influence on the development of the Indonesian economy.
The Omnibus Law Bill of Work can also be said as a solution to a variety of problems related to regulations, especially regulations on labor welfare and regulations on the licensing process for investors or investors.
So that in addition to having a positive impact on employers and workers, Omnibus Law does not violate democratic rules, if workers feel there is something wrong with the draft, then elegant steps through judicial review should be able to be carried out without potential action on riots.
