Omnibus Law Cipta Kerja Is A Friendly Solution to Worker’s Welfare

Many have wondered, what are the benefits of Omnibus Law if implemented in Indonesia? One of them, the application of Omnibus Law will eliminate the overlapping between laws and regulations. Not a few problems in our country caused by the clutter of existing laws and regulations. Therefore, Omnibus Law is believed to be able to overcome these problems.

Another benefit of the Omnibus Law if implemented in Indonesia is to improve the welfare of workers / laborers in Indonesia. In the draft of the Field Work Copyright Bill, there is article 46A which states that workers / laborers who are laid off are entitled to a Job Loss Guarantee (JKP).

The benefits of JKP itself are the provision of training (work) by the government, the provision of pocket money for 6 months, as well as the placement of work. This applies to employees whose companies go bankrupt or are laid off (not because of a crime) and actively pay BPJS Employment contributions.

For workers / laborers who were laid off, the company is required to provide severance in accordance with the length of time the worker / laborer worked. And not only that, workers who are still actively working will also be given an appropriate bonus.

This is deservedly accepted by workers and workers for the reciprocity of sacrifice for the company. In addition, no one knows whether the worker / laborer is still able to support his family or is lacking so he needs money to make a living.

That way, the company also will not arbitrarily drop layoffs to its workers. Moreover, there are no problems just because of subjective judgments. It becomes unfair if the company expels its workers who have really worked for the company’s production.

On the other hand, if the workers do not have expertise in working, Omnibus Law becomes a savior by undergoing a period of training. So that companies can also receive back workers who were laid off from the results of training from the government.

Justice must be upheld, not just one side of the company. But it also needs to be considered in terms of benefits for workers. In many cases, if the worker / laborer has enough experience in a company, then the desire arises to establish an independent business that can also open new jobs.

Omnibus Law is a companion for every worker / laborer to continue to progress and develop until he is able to have high qualifications and be able to create independent businesses. Synchronization between workers / laborers, companies, consumers, and the government must continue to be built. This will also affect the national welfare.

By looking at the situation and objectives of the work Omnibus Law Bill, it can be assessed that the urgency is very high and urgent to be immediately resolved and enacted. There is no other choice for the DPR and the government to immediately accelerate with all efforts so that the Omnibus Law Bill and the welfare of workers and workers can be realized immediately.
