The Indonesian economy is being tested nationally during the co-19 pandemic. This is proven by the large number of workers being laid off, so that people’s purchasing power is decreasing. In the midst of the crisis due to Covid-19, the Draft Omnibus Law Copyright is believed to be able to open up better investment opportunities in order to rise to Indonesia

This uncertain economic condition certainly needs improvement, so before the co-19 pandemic ends, a formula is needed to be able to revive the economy in Indonesia.

One such formula is that the work omnibus law is predicted to absorb investors so that it will have an impact on the absorbed local workforce.

Omnibus law is a rule whose position is the same as the law and aims to simplify other laws, meaning that the rules governed in many laws are deleted and then only regulated in one law.

This will certainly create a lean bureaucracy, thus enabling the acceleration of national economic improvement.

Omnibus Law Copyright work is needed because Indonesia has many laws that are formed using a sectoral approach per ministry and agency so that the results are partial and overlapping.

We can take the example of the cancellation of Samsung’s investment in making Indonesia lose many opportunities. This is because policy inconsistencies often hurt investors, including legal uncertainty.

So with the omnibus law which is a breakthrough from Indonesian President Ir Joko Widodo, certainly deserves to be appreciated.

One thing that must be understood is the work copyright omnibus which is a draft law that covers more than one aspect by combining it into one law as a form of government efforts to encourage investment and MSME growth so as to increase the number of new jobs.

Regulation and institutions are the most binding obstacles to economic growth. Current regulations with low institutional quality, high corruption, bureaucratic inefficiency, and weak coordination between policies.

This is certainly a condition that does not support efforts to create business development and even tends to limit, especially in labor regulations, investment, and trade.

On the other hand, the dynamics of global economic change require a fast and precise response. Without structural reforms, economic growth will slow down.

With the Cipta Karya Bill, it is expected that changes in the economic structure can drive economic growth to reach 5.7% -6.0%.

Each year, there are only 2.5 million jobs, even though there are 7 million people looking for work. This certainly requires regulations that can cut convoluted bureaucracies, so that it is possible to increase the acceleration of the economy nationally if the Employment Copyright Bill is passed into law.

In addition, in the midst of the co-19 Pandemic, it certainly had an impact on the inevitable mass layoffs, this is because the co-19 Pandemic has caused all economic nodes to stop completely and impact on the economic slowdown.

This fact certainly makes the government continue to think that thousands of workers who were laid off could be saved. Of course one alternative that can be done is to work on a Work Copyright Bill. This is because the regulation regulates job loss guarantees for workers affected by layoffs.

If the omnibus law is implemented, of course the company will not arbitrarily lay off employees without severance pay.

The Omnibus Employment Law Bill provides that every contract worker in case of termination of employment will be given full compensation. Whereas permanent employees will be given severance pay and even then it must be given in full.

The Omnibus Law discussion should not be misunderstood that the government does not care about the impact of the co-19 pandemic. This Work Creation Bill should be able to be a bodyguard for workers in Indonesia so that in the future, workers’ rights can be fulfilled 100 percent by employers.

The highest potential for layoffs is predicted to occur in the labor-intensive sector if the co-19 pandemic continues until Eid this year. Employers will almost certainly choose to reduce employees to ease the burden of expenses.

Indonesia certainly cannot be trapped in regulations that have been too long, even though the current industrial era has changed, of course regulations must also adjust the conditions so that workers get welfare and employers can facilitate their business licenses.
