City Council of Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, appealed to all the local Department of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry to be more selective in the slaughter of animals in Abattoirs (RPH). It is delivered at a hearing in the hall of Kendari City Council, following reports that cattle slaughtering pregnant.
Department of Agriculture and Livestock of Kendari as a technical agency said, should take responsibility for this issue. Moreover, the majority of people in the city of Kendari is Muslim not allow eating meat from animals that are pregnant.
Responding to the request of the legislature, Head of Agriculture and Livestock of Kendari Zainal Arifin said, to the incidence of pregnant cow slaughter this will no longer happen. It also promises to maximize surveillance in RPH Kendari.
“We will do data collection every day for the animals to be slaughtered at the abattoir, so that such incidents would not happen again,” he said.
