PB ESI’s Proud Achievements Under the Leadership of Budi Gunawan

Indonesia Esports Summit: The 14th World Esports Championship in Bali 2022 officially opened on 2 December and will last until 11 December in Merusaka, Nusa Dua Bali.

The IESF Bali 14th World Esports Championship 2022 turned out to be the largest outdoor esports event in the world with the most participants, so that the Indonesian Esport Management (PBESI) also made a new history, the IESF Bali 14th WEC 2022 event will be recorded in the Guiness Book of World Records.

As stated by the President of the International Esports Federation (IESF) Vlad Marinescu in a press conference that this event will be recorded in the Guinness World Book of Records as the largest esport event in the world which is on the beach and participated by the most countries.

Of course this is a very proud moment. After holding the presidency of the G20, Indonesia’s image was lifted again by hosting a prestigious world sporting event.

The match has been opened starting from the PUBG Mobile and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive game branches in the play-in round. Later it will be continued with the lower and upper bracket rounds as well as the grand final on December 6 2022.

After the opening match, it is continued with the opening ceremony or the opening ceremony at the Earth Stage which starts at 19.00 WITA.

The world esports championship competes against six types of games, namely Tekken 7, DOTA 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, PUBG Mobile, eFootball 2022 and CS:GO. Specifically for CS:GO, the CS:GO Male and CS:GO Female categories will be competed.

Previously, in his official statement in Surabaya, Chairman of PB Esports Indonesia (ESI), General Police Prof. Dr. Budi Gunawan, S.H., M.Si said that the athletes who were selected to take part in the 2022 Indonesia Esports Summit were patriots of the Indonesian nation who were required to have a steel mentality.

In addition, these athletes are also the best people selected from 270 million Indonesian people who have committed to contribute their best abilities for the glory of the nation and state on the world stage.

To the Indonesian Esports athletes, Budi Gunawan advised them to continue to be disciplined in maintaining their health, ensure the preparation of all needs and equipment, make the best use of the time to prepare themselves to improve their abilities, maintain team cohesiveness, always maintain sportsmanship, and not commit the slightest violations. whatever, and optimistic.

It is hoped that the Chairman of PB ESI, who also currently serves as Head of the State Intelligence Agency, is that Indonesian athletes who compete can make the nation and state proud on the international stage.

E-sports Indonesia (ESI) is an esports parent organization under the auspices of the Indonesian National Sports Committee. Currently, the Indonesian Esports Council (PBESI) is chaired by Budi Gunawan and has branches in 34 provinces and 512 districts throughout Indonesia.

Under Budi Gunawan’s leadership, the world of Indonesian esports has achieved a lot of success, both at the national and international levels while experiencing rapid development.

In 2021, PBESI successfully held an esports exhibition match at PON XX in Papua. In the same year, at the 2021 SEA Games in Vietnam, Indonesian e-sports won six medals, namely two gold, three silver and one bronze medal. The medals won were donated by the PUBG Mobile (gold and silver), Mobile Legends (silver), Free Fire (gold and silver) and Crossfire (bronze) divisions.

When distributing bonuses to the outstanding Sea Games E-Sports athletes, Chairman of the Indonesian E-Sports Executive Board (PBESI) Budi Gunawan expressed his pride for the achievements of Indonesian e-sports athletes. He hopes that the development of esports in a more positive direction and is able to bring progress to the nation.

Budi Gunawan also received an award from the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenpora) on the 2022 National Sports Day (Haornas).
