PLTMH Largest Central Kalimantan Operates

Choirul Fuadi, Central Kalimantan, CIDISS – Regency of Seruyan, Central Kalimantan began to operation Micro Hydro power plant’s largest in Kalteng with a capacity of 250 Kilovolt amper, located in the village of Tumbang Langkai, district of Suling Tambun, Seruyan regency, Central kalimantan.

Regent Seruyan, Sudarsono said that it is the largest PLTMH in Central Kalimantan which built with State Budget funds to IDR 19 billion. He thinks that it can serve as a model for other regions in Central Kalimantan.

“The power plant is one of pride for us, because it’s the largest Kalteng,” said Regent Seruyan as quoted in Borneo News Thursday (14/1/2016).

He asserted, the operation of PLTMH Suling Tambun has become a source of electricity to the residents of the villages in District of Suling Tambun that hardly ever touch by electricity.

Head of Suling Tambun, Samsul said, PLTMH with a capacity of 250 KVA has been the solution over the condition of absence of electricity occurred in the outermost and most distant in the ‘Bumi Gawi Hatantiring” Seruyan.

He explains, at this time all homes and offices in two villages in Kecamatan Suling Tambun, i.e. Villages Tumbang Langkai and the village of Tanjung Tukal can be electrified with total consumption is only around 107 KVA or about 50% of total capacity that is able to supplied PLTMH.

“With the presence of an excess of power, then to a very possible to do addition installation or directed to terminate the other nearby villages who do not yet have electricity,” he said.
