Manager Field Generating of State Electricity Enterprise (PLN/Perusahaan Listrik Negara) of Kalselteng (Central and South Kalimantan), Anang Widjajanto explains that PLTU Buntoi is generator using kinetic energy of the steam to generate electricity. The main component of this PLTU is a generator that is connected to the turbine-driven kinetic energy from the steam. The PLTU uses coal as fuel.
The generator by PLTU Buntoi will produce power and will be transmitted through the network transmission 150 KW or SUTT phi-connection double which will cut the transmission lines mother booths of Kapuas to Palangka Raya.
Now the progress of development PLTU is 93% already and 7% the rest of the work of some critical part before the generator is ready to supply power the Barito system (Kalselteng).
