President Jokowi will camp at the location of the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago on March 13-15, 2022. President Jokowi’s camp is proof of the Government’s seriousness in moving IKN from Jakarta to Kalimantan.
The nation’s capital will be moved to Kalimantan. This relocation is a big project, because it is not only the presidential palace and ministerial buildings that are being moved, but also the employees and immigrants from Java. The preparation requires careful planning and it is estimated that IKN will only be truly perfect in the next 15 years.
To see firsthand the preparations for moving the capital city, President Jokowi will camp at IKN, from 13 to 15 March 2022. A number of blue and gray colored tents have been prepared as camping sites. The president was not alone, but camped with Bambang Susantono as the new head of the IKN authority, along with governors from all provinces in Indonesia.
East Kalimantan Governor Isran Noor stated, “The preparations are OK. No problem and it’s fine.” In a sense, as the host of the camp, Isran will prepare the best. Although the camp is carried out on red soil and has a plywood base, it is ensured to be safe, especially in terms of health and safety, because the one who is camping is the President.
President Jokowi’s camp is proof of the government’s seriousness in building IKN. President Jokowi wants to experience the atmosphere in North Penajam Paser for himself when it is being built, so that he knows what is needed in the construction of the place. He really wanted to monitor directly because of his attention to IKN.
If President Jokowi camps at IKN and monitors it directly, he will see how far the development preparations are. Is it according to what was planned and scheduled, or is it chaotic and full of corruption. In this way, President Jokowi will immediately be able to know when a report turns out to be inconsistent with reality.
Monitoring is indeed important to minimize errors because IKN is a capital city, so it must be good and represent Indonesia. The government is very serious about building IKN because this transfer will have a positive impact, both for Kalimantan residents and all Indonesian citizens. Jakarta’s burden will also be reduced because some of its residents move to Kalimantan.
Capital development projects take time (and minimal funding). Therefore, the preparation and planning must be taken seriously. The transfer is not just bringing an office, but implementing Pancasila, namely justice for all Indonesian people.
The government is serious about building IKN because it wants Kalimantan to be more advanced and there is equality, so there is no proverb that says that development is only on the island of Java. However, modernization must exist throughout Indonesia, because this country is not only in Java. Development will start from Kalimantan and follow other areas.
The IKN project will indeed be implemented in the long term, for the sake of the perfection of the place. Although it is estimated that it will be completed in 15 years, it still needs close supervision for this project to be successful. The government wants the relocation of the capital to run smoothly so that we can develop Indonesia, starting with the new capital city.
President Jokowi camped at IKN and he proved the government’s seriousness in building the place. Penajam Paser Utara will turn into Nusantara, an ultra-modern city that represents the unity of Indonesia. The IKN project must be completed on time and make all Indonesians proud.
