Preventive Action Required in Each Covid-19 Transmission Zone

At the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, all regions in Indonesia were divided into green, yellow, orange and red zones. This division was created so that people know which areas are dangerous to visit. But despite being in the green zone, people must be disciplined in obeying health protocols so they don’t turn yellow or even red.

Corona has not yet left Indonesia and to facilitate its handling, each region is divided into green, yellow, orange and red zones. The difference in color of this zone is based on the number of Covid-19 patients and their potential spread.

The area included in the green zone is not affected by Corona but there is still a risk of spreading the virus, while in the green zone is a place where the spread of Covid-19 is controlled but there is a possibility of disease transmission. The area which is in the orange zone has moderate virus spread and the potential for transmission is quite controlled.

While the red zone region is very high virus spread and uncontrolled Corona transmission. Even in Surabaya the status has changed to a black zone because so many people are affected by Corona and its transmission is very out of control. 6,882 people have been infected with the Covid-19 virus. The number includes 223 health workers affected by Corona.

For areas included in the red and black zones, the preventive measure is to campaign for discipline in compliance with the health protocol. If someone is affected by Corona, the neighbors and village officials will immediately help to be taken to the hospital. His family was also immediately tested for swabs because they had a risk of contracting the Covid-19 virus as well.

People should also not be reckless about traveling to areas with red and black zones. Postpone business and family matters, until this pandemic ends. If possible transactions and other interests are done via cyberspace. Even though they are in good health, when they run out of the red zone, they are at risk of contracting and transmitting the Covid-19 virus.

In the orange zone area the level of spread of Corona is moderate but action must be taken to protect people who have not been infected. In addition to diligently washing hands and meeting other health protocols, the public can install applications to find out which areas there are Covid-19 patients. So it can be avoided for a while, until the pandemic subsides.

While in the green zone, it does not mean that people can take off their masks and travel happily. Even though there are no Corona patients, there is still a risk of transmission of the virus. Of people who have traveled from cities with yellow or red zones.

Especially now that the Covid-19 virus can spread through the stuffy and dirty air. So everyone must be disciplined to follow the health protocol by wearing a mask and diligently washing hands. Also maintain health by eating nutritiously and drinking water and vitamin C. Because the Covid-19 virus will not land on people whose body immunity is healthy.

Doctor Reisa Broto Asmoro, a member of the Task Force communication team in handling Covid-19 stated that each region could change the color of the zone. From the low risk can turn into high. Because people lack discipline in wearing masks and maintaining health protocols.

According to Dr. Reisa, the change in this zone depends on 3 things. Namely the level of community discipline, close supervision from the central government, and regional vision for a healthier life. Because in a healthy green zone, the people will be strong and live productively.

Changes in the zone color in each region can occur due to lack of community discipline in wearing cloth masks. Even if you are in the green zone, don’t be careless and go around without protection. Moreover, ignoring the rules of distance. We want to be free of Corona, and therefore must comply with the health regulations given by the government.
