Jakarta – Professor at the Indonesian Christian University (UKI), Prof. Angel Damayanti, Ph.D stated that the 2023 AIS Forum Summit in Bali would have a very positive impact on Indonesia.
Prof. Angel Damayanti, Ph.D explained that hosting the 2023 AIS Forum Summit proves that Indonesia is seen as an archipelagic country capable of holding high-level conferences.
“Hosting the 2023 AIS Forum Summit is proof that Indonesia is considered an archipelagic country and is capable of hosting international conferences. “This means that Indonesia’s reputation is seen as very positive, because it is able to hold a high-level conference and Indonesia is also recognized as an archipelagic country,” said Prof. Angel as a resource person at the Pancasila TV National Dialogue, Saturday. 10/7/2023.
Furthermore, he said that Indonesia had an important role in discussing marine issues at the 2023 AIS Forum Summit.
“The AIS Forum Summit had a positive impact on Indonesia because it was proven that Indonesia had a very important role, Indonesia was also involved in discussing issues about the sea or maritime affairs or about various problems faced by island and archipelagic countries in facing various potential threats that it’s in the sea,” he explained.
He also added that the AIS Summit could be used as a stage to make Indonesia a World Maritime Axis.
“Indonesia will become the world’s maritime axis, which means that Indonesia must be seen, must be seen by countries so that it can become a branch marking or become a reference that archipelagic countries or island countries must have indicators of capability that can be used as examples by other countries, for example in particular Indonesia is capable of in managing its seas, managing its marine economy, managing its marine environment, building its maritime culture, building its maritime defense. “This is very strategic because Indonesia is able to show itself as a maritime axis.” he stressed.
