Indonesia’s increasingly political world still has the potential to heat up. Since the general election was held on April 17, 2019, there have been many events that have taken the public’s attention. One of them is the rejection of presidential candidate vice-president number 02 Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno for the results of the general election, which was initially conducted by provoking street movements not in accordance with existing provisions through legal mechanisms. It was only after post-riots on May 21 and 22 2019 that the detention was channeled through a mechanism for the election court hearing in the Constitutional Court.
The election results announced on May 21, 2019 decided that the winner of the 2019 presidential election was the candidate pair number 01 Jokowi-Maruf amen. However, Prabowo Subianto rejected the results of the election and stated that the 2019 election had a lot of fraud and accused the KPU of being unprofessional and that the state apparatus was not neutral even though it must be proven by legitimate evidence rather than provoking narrative narratives.
The supporters of Paslon serial number 02 did not remain silent and finally launched an action in front of the KPU office and Bawasku which were originally called people power and subsequently replaced with the People’s Sovereignty Movement The action certainly did not escape the anarchist action that made the surrounding community disturbed and even disadvantaged . Many people complain that their daily activities are disturbed such as being unable to go to work and that there are even some fatalities in the event. Apart from the political side of the movement, this popular sovereignty movement has violated existing rules and is not in line with the Pancasila spirit, namely destroying the second precept which reads “Indonesian unity”.
In addition, yesterday’s unconstitutional movement threatened the security of society and the country. Can be seen from the discovery of firearms, sharp weapons at the scene of the incident and several injured victims even died as a result of the people’s sovereignty movement. Then, it was found an ambulance that contained rocks which were prepared to create riots so that state security was disrupted. At present the law enforcers are still working to uncover the event. Some of the perpetrators have been legally processed. It is hoped that law enforcement will work professionally and complete so that such incidents should not be repeated and do not damage Indonesian constitutional democracy.
Just as it was written in Law number 20 of 1982 concerning the basic provisions of the state defense of the Republic of Indonesia article 2 C which reads “that the Indonesian people love peace, but more love for independence and sovereignty. For the Indonesian nation war is an inhuman act, not in accordance with human dignity. Therefore the Indonesian people are aware of their rights and obligations to participate in every peace effort. ” Actually, their attitude does not reflect as much as those who seek justice are more likely to be a political party that spreads threats to state security.
But certainly not all Indonesians behave like that. The emergence of a sentence that reads ‘Reject the Provocation of the Dividers of the Nation, It’s Time to Knit National Unity. ‘Proves that there are still many Indonesian citizens who care about the unity and unity of this homeland and want the democratic system to work well. Of course the sentence does not take much time to become trending on social media in the hope that the Indonesian people are aware of the love of their homeland and of course whoever is elected President is the best decision that must be obeyed because it is a decision that is a controversial and democratic spirit. We as citizens must put aside our ego and begin to improve ourselves to help the country become a more advanced country in the future. Different political choices do not have to be a split. We must unite to make national leadership successful for the sake of sustainability of national development towards the progress of the nation. Let us support the results of the trial of the Constitutional Court by jointly rejecting all forms of unconstitutional action.
