The Jokowi-Ma’ruf government along with the DPR continued to finalize the concept of moving the State Capital out of Java. The movement of the National Capital is believed to be able to stimulate the new economic center and increase the equitable development of other regions in Indonesia.
The capital city, besides being the center of government, is also the window of the State of the Republic of Indonesia unit for foreign countries . It has been 59 years since Presidential Regulation No. 2 of 1961, Jakarta became the capital of the country. Since then Jakarta has continued to develop from a central government to the present day, becoming an economic center and metropolitan city. Jakarta became the window of Indonesia for the world.
However, since the last few years, Jakarta as the capital of n egara often flooded. Even in 2015, floods hit the city that did not enter the Presidential palace. P there in 2019 until well into 2020, flooding remains a major problem in Jakarta. Various normalization projects have been carried out by the Central Government and Regional Governments, but this has not been optimal to overcome this problem. Population density, rubbish problems, lack of water catchment areas, insufficient drainage capacity, to the condition of Jakarta’s land which is below sea level are the instruments that cause floods in Jakarta. Image of the city of Jakarta which is supposed to be good because it is a storefront Indonesia for n egara outside, being ravaged news about the flood every year celled e weran in various print and online media at home and abroad.
Besides flooding, congestion is also a difficult problem to overcome in Jakarta. Many road toll at around Jakarta that seharusn yes into a freeway also stalled long . In the midst of a high urban mobility, congestion causes people download j adi doing a lot of stress and traffic violations .
Another problem in Jakarta is social problems. As the center of government as well as the center of economic activity , Jakarta is a magnet for many people to come to try their luck looking for luck. For decades Jakarta has attracted so many people including those who do not have the skills and abilities that are qualified. Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that the number of residents in Jakarta continues to increase and reach 10.5 million in 2019 . The result is over capacity which impacts on the creation of various social problems. Population density contributes to slums, unemployment, waste problems, and crime.
Seeing the above conditions, Jakarta is no longer a representative of the current capital of the country. Therefore , it is the right attitude of the government to prepare for the relocation of the capital of the country. The new capital will be facilitated with adequate infrastructure to support high mobility. I nfrastructure built and laid out to make the capital city into a storefront best n egara this.
Capital transfer n egara will shortly goptimalkan peme flats development. Infrastructure development and Human Resources (HR) in the new capital will have an impact on the surrounding areas. A new capital city located in the central region of Indonesia would be an ideal place for equitable development . HR development in the eastern and western regions will be easy to do and develop. Thus, when the demographic dividend occurs Indonesia has been ready with superior human resources for pembagunan n egara.
Communities in the eastern and western regions of Indonesia will interact in the middle of Indonesia, and form a new culture , capital society that is not stressed by other environmental and social problems. Indonesia will form a society that is willing to be tolerant and not arrogant. Because development from the middle of Indonesia, it will be more effective to realize the ideals of a state, namely a civilized, prosperous, just and prosperous society.
And in the end, the relocation of the capital can also contribute to efforts to resolve the existing problems in Jakarta. The existence of a new capital will reduce population growth in Jakarta and may even be able to reduce population density because some people might move to a new capital.
For this reason, all Indonesians should support the relocation program of the national capital. P rogram is a government effort to bring people of Indonesia who are proud of their own nation and confidently become a great nation. In addition, this program shows that the government’s commitment is not only to design development for the Java region (Java centric). But for all regions in Indonesia. Thus the relocation of the capital city is an effort to turn the State of Indonesia into a large country amidst world competition.
