The community supports the provision of strict sanctions for violators of the Emergency Community Activity Restriction (PPKM) policy. In addition to threatening the safety of others, Emergency PPKM violators can hinder the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The health protocol that was originally 3M has now been increased to 5M, the addition is reducing mobility and staying away from crowds. The National Coordinator of the Gusdurian Network, Alissa Wahid, expressed his support for the government to be able to provide strict sanctions for violators of health protocols (prokes). This is considered necessary as an effort to discipline the public to be able to live a healthy life to avoid exposure to the corona virus.

Meanwhile, Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanudin requested that all violators of the health protocol receive strict sanctions. His director gave instructions to all heads of high prosecutors and heads of state prosecutors throughout Indonesia to be able to take the necessary steps according to their functions and authorities in implementing the implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM). emergency.

In his statement, Burhanudin said that every violator of the health protocol was subject to strict and indiscriminate sanctions and ensured that the sanctions imposed were able to provide a deterrent effect to both the perpetrators and other members of the community. In this regard, he also requested that there be an operation to enforce the law regarding the discipline of PPKM.

On a different occasion, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said regional heads who did not implement the emergency PPKM provisions in Java-Bali, would be subject to sanctions. The sanctions can range from a written warning to temporary dismissal.

Luhut said the sanctions to be imposed were in accordance with Article 68 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) of Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning regional governments. Further provisions related to this will be regulated in detail through the instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri). Not only that, sanctions will also be imposed on perpetrators of spreading false news or hoaxes related to the implementation of emergency PPKM.

Luhut also said that later the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, would issue an instruction that could authorize governors, regents and mayors to prohibit any activities that could cause crowds.

In carrying out and supervising emergency PPKM, regional heads coordinate with the TNI, Polri and the Attorney General’s Office. These instructions will certainly be the basis for legal action during the implementation of emergency PPKm.

It should be noted that the delta variant spreads more quickly than the alpha variant, where it turns out that this variant has a prevalence of 50-60% more quickly spread than alpha.

The Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology (LBM) admitted that he was worried that the mutation of the Eek corona virus would have an impact on decreasing the efficacy of the Corona virus vaccine currently used. Eijkman said, the mutation occurred in the spike protein or often called the S1 protein. This causes the receptors to bind to human cells more strongly, which has implications for the rapid and large number of transmissions.

Head of LBM Eijkam Amin Soebandrio said that the Eek corona variant was reported to have the potential to spread more quickly. Director of Prevention and Control of Directly Infectious Diseases (P2PML) of the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, suspects that the Eek variant has the potential to cause more massive transmission. Moreover, currently there are three variants of the corona virus spread in Indonesia.

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BRI) Corporate Secretary Aestika Oryza Gunarto considered that the 2M protocol was actually nothing new. This seems to be often emphasized by policy makers to prevent the spread of Covid-19 since the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) were implemented.

Aestika itself seems to have greatly reduced the intensity of activities with high mobility and away from crowds or crowded places, since Covid-19 first broke out last year until now.

According to him, reducing mobility does not mean that you cannot do activities and are not productive. Now many offices have implemented Work From Home (WFH) and they can still be productive even though they are working from home. Especially now that there are many digital platforms available to communicate and work from anywhere.

Prokes 5M is one of the efforts to reduce the rate of transmission of Covid-19. When the number of positive patients is increasing, of course we must not be careless about the number of patients. Therefore, the public is advised to always obey the Prokes in order to prevent a surge in Covid-19 patients in Indonesia.
