Supporting strict sanctions for PSBB offenders

PSBB alias large-scale social restrictions were issued since the Covid-19 pandemic. The public is strictly prohibited from holding events that invite crowds such as weddings and music concerts. They are also prohibited from going outside to jostle when shopping at the market. But the facts on the ground show that there are still many who violate them, so there needs to be strict sanctions in the form of fines for those who ignore the PSBB.

The Covid-19 pandemic is still ongoing in Indonesia. The government issued several steps to prevent the spread of Corona disease, such as policies to stay at home, school from home and work from home, to PSBB. It is hoped that with this regulation the public can be orderly and will not be infected with the very dangerous Covid-19 virus.

Large-scale social restrictions are carried out in several ways. Among other motorcycle riders are prohibited from piggybacking on people, and online motorcycle taxi drivers are also not allowed to take orders to deliver humans. They are only allowed to deliver goods and order food. For cars, it is limited to a maximum of only 3 people and there must be a distance. While in shopping places like supermarkets, there is a maximum number of people who can enter. Before shopping, you must wash your hands in the available tap.

Unfortunately, this PSBB regulation is violated by many people. They are still indifferent to shopping without wearing a mask and piggybacking a child or wife on a motorcycle. The reason is because they do not have a car and save on transportation costs. Though this is very dangerous because it can increase the risk of Covid-19 virus and transmit it to others.

Finally, the government took decisive steps for PSBB violators. Those who are desperate to bring a car filled with many passengers, especially not wearing masks, will be fined starting from 500,000 to 1,000,000 rupiah. If you do not have that much money, you must be willing to do social work by cleaning public facilities, and they must wear a special vest. If you still object, the car will be towed by Satpol PP and stored in a special place.

As for motorbike riders who are riding and not wearing masks, they will be fined the same if found out. They must be willing to work socially or give up their vehicles to be towed by officers. Another fine is having to pay money ranging from 100,000 to 250,000 rupiah.

This regulation has been in force since late April 2020 and has only been implemented in Jakarta. It is hoped that in other regions similar policies will emerge, so that the community is truly disciplined and adheres to the PSBB policy. Because actually stay at home and this large-scale social restrictions for their own good. So you shouldn’t be angry and instead attack the officers who apply the rules and ask for fines in the form of money or social work. Because this is made to create a deterrent effect, so that people obey the policies made by the government.

You do not fool around and instead deliberately left the house without a mask and piggybacking as usual. Respect the work of patrolmen in the field who are trying to uphold the rules. They are willing to work out there and have a great risk of exposure to the Covid-19 virus. So do not even fight and cat and mouse with officers, just because you are bored at home and want to go out with the whole family.

Understand that PSBB regulations and fines for violators are for our common good. If everyone is disciplined to stay at home, work from home and school from home and shop online, then the curve of Covid-19 virus spread will decrease. Indonesia can be free from Corona disease and we can move outside as usual.
