Development in various sectors is being pursued by the government so that the Indonesian people can enjoy equitable facilities, so that the impression of Java-centric will change to be Indonesia-centric. Therefore, the relocation of the capital city is also the implementation of Pancasila for the realization of equitable development.

In addition to boosting Indonesia’s development from the outermost regions, the government is also working on plans to move the capital city from Java to Kalimantan, precisely in Kutai and Penajam.

The removal of the Capital City can also shift the mindset that has been oriented towards Java to become Indonesia-centric and more oriented to efforts to maintain the integrity of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

Isran Noor as the Governor of East Kalimantan said, the positive impact of moving the capital city will not only be felt by East Kalimantan alone. But economic growth will also be felt in neighboring regions because of its proximity.

Isran said, central and eastern Kalimantan will also feel the positive impact of the relocation of the capital city. Because, the material to build a government complex will definitely be imported from the nearest area.

In addition, East Kalimantan is also adjacent to the western part of Sulawesi, which is certain to be affected.

He also ensured that Kalimantan Kalimantan was ready to become the center of Indonesian government to replace DKI Jakarta. He explicitly said that he had no choice but to be prepared.

Previously, President Jokowi had also revealed the reason why the East Kalimantan Region became the choice for the central government as the location of Indonesia’s new capital city in place of DKI Jakarta.

In a press conference at the merdeka palace in 2019, Jokowi said that the area in East Kalimantan is an area that is minimal risk of disaster, whether floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, forest fires or landslides.

In addition, the location is also considered strategic. If the coordinates are drawn, the location is right in the middle of Indonesian territory.

He continued, the location of moving the capital city was close to cities that had already developed, namely the city of Balikpapan and the city of Samarinda.

In addition to development preparations, the Government will also target the provision of 5G networks, which are targeted to be available before the country’s capital is moved.

Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Johnny G Plate explained, this was one way to support and realize an intelligent capital city through the application of 5G.

The existence of this network is also the foundation for running a digital-based government and economy. This has become part of the road map for the development of Indonesia’s new capital.

With these efforts, certainly shows that the government is really serious in its efforts to realize the development of the New Capital City for Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the Head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) said that the government set the target of this relocation can be started in 2020. For this reason, the government has now begun to prepare a legal basis such as a bill on the status of a special area that will become the new capital of the Republic of Indonesia.

After 2020, all preparations have been completed, so that in 2021 construction will continue, and in 2024 the government will begin the removal process.

In the transfer there is a core area of the central government area of 2000 hectares of land provided. The land will later be built in the State Palace, Office of State Institutions (Executive, Legislative, Judicial) cultural parks and botanical gardens.

Furthermore, in 2025 to 2029, the government will enter the next stage, namely building property. The available land is around 40,000 hectares where the land will later be built housing for TNI / ASN / Polri, educational facilities, health and also military bases.

The relocation of the Indonesian capital from Jakarta to East Kalimantan is expected to grow a new economic center. It also can ease Jakarta’s burden from the social and economic side.

The decision to move the capital is certainly not a sudden thing without in-depth study. We need to know that the idea of relocating the Capital City has actually also been discussed since the era of the 1st President of RI Ir Soekarno,

So that the government’s efforts to realize the removal of the Capital City is the right step to realize the dream of the nation and the nation’s founders.
