Radicalism is a common threat that can threaten the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. Therefore, joint synergy is needed to dispel this understanding so that the integrity of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia can be maintained.
Radicalism is indeed a dangerous understanding and cannot be left alone in Indonesia, especially lest this understanding infect the younger generation because they are the next generation who will determine the direction of the nation’s movement in the future.
Presented by Jamzuri as Plt. The head of the Karimun Regency Ministry of Religion said that radicalism should not affect the younger generation because it can threaten the life of the integrity of the nation and state. Especially in the era of information flow that is very easy to access in today’s digital world, one of the segments that is quite promising and also has the potential to be exposed to radicalism is the millennial generation.
Therefore, it is also important to convey that there must be quite strict monitoring and a Cyber Anti-Radicalism team is formed. This is very important in order to be able to monitor how activities are carried out in the digital world at this time, including the efforts of radical groups to try to enter into popular algorithms that are widely accessed by the younger generation.
Radical groups often target the younger generation. This is because the younger generation has a very high curiosity and triggers them to be trapped in the trap of radicalism. This is because they will find it easy to access information and be influenced by a wrong understanding, especially regarding the diversity that occurs in the country.
Regarding the rapid flow of information that is happening in today’s digital era, filtering all kinds of information is no less important. The reason is that nowadays there is a lot of fake news spreading with certain framing and narratives that smell like radicalism. At least by being able to be more careful in managing information, then it becomes one way to break the chain of spreading radical ideas.
In addition, it is not only strict monitoring in the world of social media or the digital world, but there must also be monitoring in the real world, namely by reviewing all activities or programs that may not prioritize Anti-Radicalism activities so that they focus more on those things.
Of course, it is not only the government that is tasked with trying to prevent radicalism that occurs in society, but it requires full support from every level of society itself because it cannot be denied that if only one or several parties work, it will be very not optimal to eradicate understanding of radicalism which may be some of them have already spread in society.
The community itself can also report if there is a certain group that spreads radicalism and even leads to things that smell like terrorism, both on a small scale and on a large scale so that they can be handled immediately and not spread in order to minimize the possibility of victims as well. .
Furthermore, Jamzuri also advised all religious leaders to continue to provide religious socialization that is full of politeness, values of mutual respect, peace, tolerance, acceptance of difference or diversity and pluralism, as well as a sense of love for the country and defending the country. Messages related to fighting radicalism and continuing to maintain tolerance are also very much needed in the realm of formal education, which can be conveyed by teachers to all their students.
The whole attitude of tolerance must also be shown by harmony between religious-based Institutions/Organizations ranging from Islam, Christianity, Catholicism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Confucianism as an effort to prevent radicalism and intolerance.
So it is undeniable that all parties have an equally important and equally important task to dispel radical understanding. With the synergy and cooperation of all parties, it is hoped that the spread of radicalism can be suppressed.
