The Community Supports the Government’s Deradicalization Program

The de-radicalization program carried out by the Indonesian government has been going on for a long time. Initially the program was intended to deal with criminal acts of terrorism that occurred, and the institution authorized to do so was the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT). The community also supports the de-radicalization program because it is considered capable of preventing the spread of radicalism and terror.

In 2007, the deradicalization program then experienced a strengthening. At that time the parliament supported a deradicalization policy by the government aimed at stopping hardliners and fighting terrorism.

Deradicalization can be interpreted as any attempt to neutralize radical notions through an interdisciplinary approach, covering the fields of law, psychology, religion and also socio-culture.

Some strategies that will be carried out by the government to prevent exposure to radicalism in Indonesia include reviving flag ceremonies in schools and agencies, installing CCTV in all places of worship, certifying preachers, installing CCTV in all places of worship and the existence of CPNS selection tests and BUMN employees can indicate a person is exposed to radicalism and terrorism.

Radicalism that develops in Indonesia will certainly cause concern for all people in Indonesia. In epistemology radical comes from words rooted or deep. At present the radical meaning refers to religious groups who like violence.

Radicalism can be interpreted as an understanding or religious school that wants a change both socially and politically drastically with violence.

When radicals attack on targets that they consider to be enemies, then that will cause damage on earth. Damage does not only occur in physical matters such as buildings or buildings, but also moral damage to youth.

Radicals will always support people who carry out acts of terror. With the bomb that they detonated, the building will collapse and will cause loss to many parties.

In addition, those who have been exposed to radicalism will usually teach someone to be intolerant of others of different groups. Even they will hate people who are not religious or compatible with it. The existence of this movement will certainly destroy the national sense of the nation.

Radicalization that occurred in Indonesia has provided various evidences of destruction and destruction as well as hostility. If we interpret, radicalization is a transfer of ways of thinking to be tolerant of violence with a specific purpose.

The community should be taught to love one another, and respect differences in the surrounding environment.

If there is a reason to fight, then there are many ways to fight, not by building bombs or attacking the authorities.

Data from BNPT also shows that there are currently around 600 ex-convicts of terrorism (napiter) in Indonesia.

The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, said the government’s deradicalization program to sensitize terrorist prisoners has been successful.

Earlier, Mahfud said dozens of inmates who were incarcerated in prisons with strict supervision for high-risk prisoners on Nusakambangan Island, Cilacap had pledged loyalty to the country.

In Nusakambangan, for example, there have been 48 former terrorist inmates who have now returned to the Republic of Indonesia, and expressed loyalty by showing the attitude and behavior of the Republic of Indonesia.

In an effort to deradicalize the government, it also cooperates with former terrorists such as Umar Patek who was once the Field Commander of Pelatiha JL. In Mindanao Philippines

Umar Patek, who was once involved in terrorist acts, is currently helping the government in deradicalization efforts.

Now he has stated back to the Republic of Indonesia. Even in recent times, the figure of Umar Patek became a red and white flag raiser during the anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) in Lap Porong.

In the effort to deradicalize, he always invites young people not to be easily consumed by the lure of heaven’s promise.

The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, said the government’s deradicalization program to sensitize terrorist prisoners has been successful.

Mahfud said that dozens of inmates who were imprisoned in tight supervision for high-risk prisoners on Nusakambangan Island, Cilacap, had pledged loyalty to the country.

All efforts to deradicalise carried out by the government both central and regional, certainly we should support so that radical understanding is not widespread. In addition, the napites can also declare themselves loyal to the Pancasila and NKRI after going through the process of deradicalization. )* The writer is a Pakuan Bogor University Student
