JAKARTA – Political Communication Expert at Pelita Harapan University (UPH) Dr. Emrus Sihombing assessed the appointment of Ministers and Deputy Ministers in the Indonesian Cabinet Advanced Jokowi -Maruf Amin with the representation of Papua, considered appropriate because it is a mirror of geopolitics.
“Previously I was disappointed if the Minister appointed by Pak Jokowi was not represented by Papua, but as soon as there was a Papuan representative entered though as the Deputy Minister we appreciated,” Emrus said in a special dialogue in West Jakarta, Tuesday (10/29/2019).
According to Emrus, the position of deputy minister (wamen) given to 12 people was assessed, not dividing the position. But it is a distribution of power. And this is lawful and natural.
According to him, the terminology of political communication for power sharing sentence or sentence sharing seat position, tends to have a negative meaning.
Therefore, the position of the wamen must also be placed as the distribution of power or the delegation of duties and authority by the government to its assistants, to carry out their duties and powers effectively.
“It is not quite right if the wamen’s position is said to be for seat share or position sharing. What is appropriate in the terminology of political communication is distribution of power. Sharing duties and authority, so that government works are more effective. Because, for Indonesia, there are indeed many jobs, duties and authority that must be carried out appropriately, “said Emrus.
In the same place Hendri Satrio from Kedai Kopi, stated that Prabowo’s entry into the Jokowi coalition was part of the equitable distribution of seats in democracy.
Coupled with a number of new faces like Wishnutama, Nadiem Makariem and son Harie Tanuwidjaja.
“I say that in a democratic climate the divide of seats of power is equal distribution so that all can enter the government, except for a few,” Hendri said.
Therefore Hendri said his party hoped that with the new Indonesian cabinet the Government would be able to improve the economic conditions of the people.
“There should be an economic recession in 2018, but it can be in 2020 so my advice is the Government, Mr. Joko, please pay attention to the people’s stomach besides development,” he said.
