Around 6,000 police officers stand guard in Wamena Papua. That is because the Police sniff out action plans that have led to riots in the region as well as providing a sense of security to the community.

Kompol Asep Adi Saputra as Head of the Public Information Division of the Police Public Relations Division said that in Wamena it was conducive.

It guarantees security in Wamena. About 6,000 personnel are also still in Papua to remain alert. The police also suspected that there were still actions that triggered the riots.

According to Asep, the recent riots in Papua were orchestrated by the West Papua National Committee (KNPB), the Armed Criminal Group (KKB), and the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP).

The events caused by the riots in the land of Papua were clear and clearly masterminded by the 3 groups, namely KNPB, KKB and ULMWP. The police are still suspecting and detecting further riots.

All security forces in Wamena, both TNI and Polri, stand by and provide guarantees for the security of the Papuan people, especially in Wamena.

Meanwhile, Polsi has set as many as 13 people as suspects in the riots in Wamena a few days ago. A total of 10 people have been arrested and three others are still on the wanted list.

They are DM, RW, AU, RA, AK, DC, YP, ES, NT, SK. Some of them are still high school and vocational high school students. While still at large are YA, P and MH.

They are suspected of violating the law because they have incited other people to commit crimes. The article that was alleged to them, namely article 160 of the Criminal Code, article 170 of the Criminal Code and Article 187 of the Criminal Code.

Jayawijaya Resort Police, Papua also set three people on the wanted list (DPO) because they were indicated as part of the perpetrators of the riots in Wamena on September 23, 2019.

Jayawijaya Police Chief AKBP Tonny Ananda Swadaya, said the 3 people must be immediately arrested for further development of the case.

Tony said that he already knew the people, his photos, the video footage from CCTV was available.

Tonny confirmed that after the examination of the 12 people who were safeguarded, nine of them had led to the suspect.

The former Lanny Jaya District Police Chief said that there were 1,500 combined personnel prepared to provide security guarantees in Wamena.

The economic activities in Wamena are now gradually returning to normal.

Refugees who were previously in the Jayawijaya Police Headquarters have been reduced because they have returned to their respective homes.

His party has also appealed to the refugees to no longer carry sharp weapons, and for the past few days I have seen that no longer carry sharp weapons around Wamena.

1 day after the riots, residents around the city were seen protecting themselves by carrying sharp weapons such as machetes, knives, pipes and wood to anticipate the subsequent riots.

Meanwhile the evidence that was secured was 34 stones that were used to attack, 1 unit of a burning motorcycle, one unit of a hi-lux vehicle, as well as video footage that was confiscated as evidence of evidence. The video recording is thought to be a recording that will be released as hoax news.

The head of the Papua National Commission on Human Rights, Frits Ramandey conveyed that negative information or even hoaxes, aka lies, could actually make the situation worse.

He also said, if any of the refugees had a direct incident at the time of the incident. It is better not to spread information or news that is provoked again, because that will bring up new sentiments and other negative impacts.

Frits said, the information provided by the refugees was actually used so that it was distorted by certain groups. That is certainly worrying, given that the public is now easily ignited by provocative news, which in turn triggers hatred, revenge and often leads to violence.

It is fitting for us to maintain peace starting from ourselves, not to be ignited by news that is not necessarily true, besides that the police must also be able to open communication well so that the public can get security guarantees, both TNI-POLRI are ready to maintain security in Wamena.
