One year, the Covid-19 pandemic has plagued Indonesia and globally, it has an impact on all sectors, especially the economy.
As a foundation for developed countries, one of the factors that can influence and boost the economy is the importance of infrastructure development.
Especially in the last four years, the government has focused on building various infrastructures throughout Indonesia.
“Infrastructure is not only roads, port bridges and airports. However, infrastructure in the health, digital and food security sectors in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic is able to bring us to compete and win over competing with other countries, “said Saiful, business and economic players in ‘Smart Chat’ with the theme ‘The Importance of Infrastructure Development Amid the Covid Pandemic. -19 ‘at Muara Jakarta Radio, Monday (22/3/2021).
Saiful conveyed that every developed country must have good infrastructure. Therefore, the government has built the necessary infrastructure, such as toll roads, airports, ports, dams, etc.
“The infrastructure development will certainly make it easier for people to do their activities amid the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Saiful.
In the same place, Inggar Saputra, an academic at the University of Jakarta emphasized that infrastructure development is part of the fifth principle of Pancasila, namely Social Justice for All Indonesians.
“How important the current infrastructure development is, of course it is very important as inter-regional connectivity, which previously took 5 hours to Jakarta from Cirebon, for example, now can be shortened. Then another important role is as the state’s responsibility to its people,” said Inggar.
Inggar assesses that what President Joko Widodo’s administration has done in infrastructure development is very evenly distributed and no longer Java-centric.
Golkar politician Camelia Panduwinata Lubis admitted that he agreed that during the Joko Widodo administration, infrastructure development was no longer Java-centric.
“Agreed, it means that since his leadership, the development of all parts of Indonesia is evenly distributed, Kalimantan, Papua, Sumatra are no longer focused on Java alone,” explained Camel.
This means that said Camel who is also a sworddut, the importance of infrastructure development is none other than in encouraging economic recovery, especially in the midst of a pandemic.
