Former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Hamdan Zoelva said, we should be grateful elections 2018 smoothly and safely. But the whole community should not be euphoric, let alone careless, of various efforts that have the potential to cause a stir. If there is fraud or other problems, leave it to the legal mechanism.
He asked the contestants and the community to conduct post-election reconciliation. This is important in order to understand that winning loses is common in the selection process.
He explained that in the election there must have been a losing win. So whoever we elect should accept him as a leader. Maybe we do not agree, but that’s the rules we use to choose leaders.
For this reason, Hamdan invites all communities to build mutual understanding, increase tolerance and respect differences between one another. According to him, it was the great capital of the Indonesian people to remain united.
He said, there was no big and advanced nation if the people continued to fight and fight. Let us maintain our togetherness as a nation, let us maintain our peace and security together so that we can compete with other nations.
In general, Hamdan continued, Indonesians are increasingly mature through democratic processes. This should be appreciated. This peaceful situation can not be separated from Indonesia’s long experience of conducting elections.
Hamdan also reminded the losing contestants that Legowo and not take actions that violate the rules. The losing party or feeling disadvantaged can directly bring the matter to the Constitutional Court.
Whoever wins must be able to embrace the loser, because he was elected not for his voters, but for all the people in the area. It should be understood together. This is one form of reconciliation to maintain the peace of the Indonesian Nation.
