Bali — The success of the entire series of IESF Bali 14Th WEC 2022 activities as the largest outdoor esports event in the world has been able to support economic and tourism progress in Indonesia, especially after the shock after the Covid-19 pandemic.
Not a few parties enthusiastically took part in all the Indonesia Esports Summit: Bali 14Th World Esports Championships 2022 giving high appreciation for the success of the Indonesian Esports General Manager (PB ESI) in overseeing the event.
Indeed, since the opening itself on Friday (2/12) then the event was opened with great fanfare.
No less, the closing of the IESF Bali 14th WEC 2022 was also observed to be very grand.
How can it not be pretentious, because the electronic sports event initiated by PB ESI during Budi Gunawan’s leadership era became the largest outdoor esports event in the world based on the large number of participants.
All Indonesian people should be proud because the event was included in the Guinness Book of World Records for setting a world record.
So it’s not surprising that PB ESI presented the closing ceremony with great fanfare, in which there were many displays of typical Indonesian culture in the eyes of the world.
Not only has it succeeded in holding a grandiose event, but PB ESI itself has also been successful in continuing to develop the sport tourism ecosystem in Indonesia.
Thus, the continuity of the IESF Bali 14Th WEC 2022 is considered to greatly affect the development of the country’s economic and tourism sectors.
PB ESI Daily Chairperson, Bambang Sunarwibowo explained that the development of sport tourism has also occurred because of the great support that has been made by creative industry players for esports.
Not only that, by holding the largest outdoor esports event in the world, it is also able to attract a lot of foreign tourists to come to the Island of the Gods and they can enjoy the beauty of Bali.
“We also see that currently the support from Indonesian creative industry players, as well as witness the beautiful panorama of Bali which will be the backdrop for the spectacular competition stages that will be held. An affirmation that this is the true face of esports,” said Bambang Sunarwibowo.
Furthermore, with the rapid development of esports in Indonesia, the Executive Chairman of PB ESI is optimistic that an increase in economic recovery will occur.
“The face of a new sport that is growing rapidly and is developing into an industry with great economic, social and cultural potential. New sports branches are not only able to become a place for actualization and world-class achievements for young people from all over the nation, but also have the potential to act as a social currency for post-pandemic economic recovery,” he added.
Not only that, but esports will also become a sports industry that can encourage increased tourism in Indonesia.
“Esports is a sports industry that is capable of driving the rise of the creative economy and tourism through the concept of sport tourism, the promotion of national culture on the world stage through the development of local games made by the nation’s children,” emphasized the Executive Chairman of PB ESI.
Meanwhile, with how successful PB ESI was in overseeing the smooth running of the IESF Bali 14Th WEC 2022, the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora RI), Zainudin Amali, gave his great appreciation to the sports association led by Budi Gunawan.
“I think this event is extraordinary. I thank and appreciate PB ESI for organizing this event,” he said.
No less proud, Indonesia also emerged as the overall champion in the IESF Bali 14Th WEC championship. In this case, Indonesia won 3 (three) gold from the DOTA 2, eFootball and MLBB game numbers. Indonesia also won 1 bronze medal presented by the CS:GO Women’s National Team.
