The Jokowi-Ma’ruf government was formally formed in October 2019. In this second period, President Jokowi and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin needed the support of all parties including the general public and citizens. This support is needed to foster public optimism that the Government continues to work hard to develop Indonesia. It is undeniable that the level of technological development more or less affects its users. Starting from the mindset, words said, the content posted to the response to the surrounding environment. Although there are rules regarding this technology, users don’t seem to care. They are like having their own world when technology opens the way of imagination.
However, unfortunately lately the technological function has shifted quite significantly. Especially those that smell of radicalism and transnationalism that can threaten the integration of the Nation. This is reflected in the emergence of religious conflicts that occur in the archipelago. Which is based on a sense of hatred, intolerance, and radicalism that is increasingly fast in the middle of society to cyberspace. In addition, the behavior of Indonesian people who like to neutralize something, where they tend to preach negative things, whether in the form of photos or videos or a satirical allusion.
Social media is now considered to be a fertile ground for counter-productive actions on the values of unity. Its anonymous nature makes everyone freely create intolerant content distribution accounts and is full of hostility.
This resulted in the polarization of the people in the midst of national life which subsequently was exploited by short-term political maneuvers of certain groups in order to damage national values.
Therefore, a strong commitment is needed along with ongoing efforts. Particularly from among the Citizens in order to be able to position social media strategically so that they can again act as a media for transforming news that contains literacy and educational facilities. When social media returns to function as a positive instrument in maintaining the atmosphere of relations between the children of the nation in order to remain conducive, peaceful, peaceful and can contribute to the success of sustainable development through posting positive content. Which highlights the various advantages of the nation in order to realize government programs for the next 5 years. For the sake of achieving Indonesia Forward.
One example of citizen collaboration with the community comes from the community of social medical activists from Depok and surrounding areas consisting of various groups. Namely, YouTuber, bloggers and also the content creators together with media members gathered in the boarding school journalist forum held discussions and declarations of the movement against hoaxes. Specifically through the dissemination of positive content in order to contribute to the success of the national development program in the next 5 years. This movement contains educational action and invites the public to be wiser in digesting various information coming from social media.
This initiative is based on proving that social media is the main driver in generating various opinions, discourses to public awareness of something that is happening like the implementation of development.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Rita Nurlita as Head of the Department of Communication and Information of Depok City said that the activities initiated by FPMSI and Pesantren Journalists Forum and supported by the media of Kataindonesia, Kabardepok and Siarandepok must be able to hold and become a massive movement of citizens to spread positive narratives and optimistic spirit to invite the community to knit unity in Indonesia, Kabardepok and Siarandepok. and reach for the Progress of the Nation together.
Dr. Indra Samego LIPI Political Observer also asked for opinions and appealed to contribute to the progress of the nation by taking part in the fight against hoaxes that were increasingly widely launched. He realizes that social media offers new things to citizens, even though the news and content are not necessarily true.
On the other hand, Hafid Nasir, a member of the Depok City DPRD, also invited young milineal people to be more literate and critical of the information currently circulating in the Maya world.
Even though cyberspace is artificial. In fact citizens have extraordinary imagination about this one world. Actually the thing that needs to be addressed is the HR itself. Where should begin to behave more intelligently and sensitive to anything that if able to trigger all forms of division, hostility to public chaos that can impact on the progress of the Nation. Let’s be more thorough and play an active role in fostering a positive attitude including posting a variety of content that can drive the success of the government program for the next 5 years. For the realization of a more advanced Indonesia.
